I probably got a lot but Game Boy was the most memorable indeed, the only one I vividly remember getting at christmas.

When I was 4, I got a bootleg NES to play counterfeit cartridges on it, which were sold for pennies where I lived. I got Konami's Batman Returns and Contra and played the shit out of those two for a couple of years.
On a similar note, I got Ocean's Robocop 2 for my birthday the next year, but I had an awful fever during that time. I played it right away and I didn't get too far, but the game over screen (Murphy, wrecked, sitting in a maintenance chair connected to cables and with his head exposed) got stuck in my head and I had nightmares of it for some nights while I still had that fever. I never played it again.
I still love Robocop 1 and 2 and I watch them at least once a year.

being born in 91 I was simply the perfect age to get a ton of pokemon related shit in 98/99/00. when I think of the best christmas/kid related memories I still think pokemon. had picrel and shit was so cash.

I never was allowed a lot of playtime as a kid.
We only had one TV in the living room and the whole family was there for the holidays and we had stuff going on. I've also never used guides. I'm amazed I got that far.
During the school year I was only allowed to play Friday until Sunday at 6 until graduating HS. Now kids have iPads lol. Games took months to beat usually so playing them back as an adult is often a better experience.

I never got games or consoles for Christmas now that I think about it... Well no there was that time I got ONE first party controller and two 3rd party ones so I could finally play 4 player with my two friends and dad.
