Which retro Tekken is actually the best. Early ones feel too jank and then there's 3 which feels like the best overall package but Tag has the best roster. Tekkens a weird one because unlike other fighters it seems to just build upon itself rather than reinventing the wheel every so often, making it seem like the only best option is to play the newest one
tekken was never good

>>122564133 or 5 (people say 5DR is the best but vanilla T5 is fine even if its unbalanced).
3 loses points for introducing Eddie, the button-masher's favourite character.
>>12256413I had tekken 3 so it was the best one.
>>12256413I only ever really liked 5
>>12256445>>12256486you guys are half rightthe "anything is fun with friends" meme is rightfighting games give you the illusion that they're fun alone, but you only really play alone to practice for playing with friends lateras single player games they're a mid genre you only play after you're bored of all your other games
i had the most fun with tag and 5. i always wished tag mode just became an optional mode of play going forward but it never happened.

3 because of the volleyball minigame
>>12256881I feel the opposite, fighting games are my number one single player genre. Yeah it's better on multiplayer of course, but I still get more stimulation from cheesing AI and practicing combos than I do most games when I just have an hour to kill or whatever. I usually only sit down with a single player game with full intent to beat it and when I have multiple hours to kill and isolate myself, other than games like Mega Man which are super short I just don't have the time most days
its between 3 and tag and i really cant choose. i have fonder memories of playing tag i guess

>>12256445truetekken has always been great
>>12256413Tag 1
Tekken 2 and tekken 3 are both equal good. But tekken 3 is better.
>>12256413Tekken 2 is the classic. Everything else is just riding on its coattails.I feel like most people who weren't competitive tryhard autists already were sick of the franchise after playing T2 to death and playing the later ones was more like going through the motions for the nostalgia.
