I like motorcycles more than cars irl but cars are an infinitely better vehicle for video games. There's a heaviness you can't get with motorcycles. That's why Gran Turismo succeeded and Tourist Trophy failed. Ironically, the best and most successful bike game ever made is Mario Kart Wii.
Same with extreme sports games and the skateboard/snowboard. These vehicles are highly versatile and fit the gaming medium far better than other extreme sports. Roller blades have limited tricks, BMX has limited movement (landing backwards fucks you up), surfing has limited level design. So Tony Hawk and SSX succeed, the others fail.
Do you agree or disagree? /v/ was too retarded to have any opinions.

A racing game needs a way to screw with the other drivers, otherwise is just a glorified and boring time trial.

Have you tried ramming?

I ride a motorcycle and I could explain several reasons why motorcycle games suck and always will suck but it has nothing to do with retro videogames

The only option that might work are those arcade games with the actual motorcycle you can sit on. I briefly tried one in the 90s and it was pretty crap from memory because you had to manually lean the motorcycle from side to side to steer, which isn't how motorcycles fucking work

Most motorcycle games are retro (Super Hang-On, Tourist Trophy, MotoGP, Suzuki TT Superbikes etc) so I'm sure you could talk about it

Motorcycles control better with a NeGcon.

Clever box art. The state of the car implies that this is the most "open" ended racing sim released yet.>>12258186

Some bike games can be fun

I love bikes, but it's true that there aren't any good bike games. Most don't simulate balance control, since you have more contact with the machine than you do with a car.

seems too inherently physical about shifting your center of gravity etc. to really translate to simplistic video game controls. Even cars are kinda too subtle with the sense of the grip of each tire and they're way more numb than bikes

>has driving aids
>they make driving harder, not easier
I'm currently playing GT4 for the first time and really wonder what the fuck they thought when doing this. Maybe it's just me, but once I completely deactivated the over- and understeering aid, the car's handing became much more fun and predictable. I could barely take a clean curve before.
