What are your best and worst Christmas gaming memories
Best: when I got Tiberian Sun and my sister got The Sims and we had to take turns using the PC. I'm sure I complained at the time but looking back it's a amazing that even a normie girl would be getting a legendary classic of a game back then.Worst: I begged for Deus Ex: Invisible War, being a huge fan of the first game, only to get it and it didn't even run. Apparently that was less of a disappointment than if it had though.
>>12263624Getting a 32x and star wars arcade butthem not working
>>12263624Getting a gameboy pocket and pokemon yellow for my birthday/christmas (born on Christmas)I bragged about it to the kids at schoolyears later I found out it was a donated gift from the kids at school, so I was kind of an ass guess
DID YOU JUST POST AN AISLOP OP?
>>12263653It’s actually a picture of me in 1996. Thanks.
I never received any vidya gifts because my parents didn't like this hobby.Except for my first console, I had to buy my vidya with my own allowance.>tfw no Christmas gaming memories
>>12263624>AI SHART
>>12263624The year I got my Super Nintendo for Christmas was the same year I had chickenpox for Christmas.
>>12263667No wonder you'd cry, with a brand new Saturn but a game for the Seiy Yiy Sony Dumr, so you could not play it.
>>12263624SIRS DO NOT REDEEM THE SEGA SIRS
A kid receiving a Sega Saturn in 1996 with Nights would have one of the most magical christmas ever. Revisionism really altered the way people look at the past
>This is actually AI!
I had both a Saturn and a PSX. Shit was wild, yo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSgclvVMF3U
I wrote a long post to this thread when you made it last year and no one responded because if your post is more than 1 sentence long zoomers just scroll past it.
I got my n64 as a christmas gift with Ocarina of Time. Then on New Years, I turned my game on and played a little of dodongo's cavern 'cause I was worried that y2k had got my system.
>>12263675>>12263704calm down virgin
>>12263624I accidentally killed my brothers Gameboy Color he got as a Christmas present. Either I plugged it to a bad outlet or I was using the wrong power adapter. The outlet looked burned. Best memory was getting Banjo Tooie for Christmas. I have no clue but my parents knew it was a game I wanted. I typically just ask for Legos or Knex for Christmas presents. I had other hobbies than playing video games.
>>12263624>couldn't even photoshop the kights cover into the pickek and the sad thing is it probably still took this zoomie 30 minutes to generate this from trial and error lmao
>>12263624My wife, who was my fiancee at the time, gave me a telescopic controller to play on my tablet as a handheld.
>>12263728Can't you read?
>>12263720it would be great for the couple hours of content nights will give you and before you realize theres nothing else good on the console
Experiencing the magic of OoT with my older brother Christmas morning. It was amazing. Close second was Pokemon Yellow + Gameboy Color
>>12263827>kights
my favoirte xmas gaming memory is destroying my own hobby so i can generate retarded fucking pictures that don't hold up to 3 seconds of scrutiny and do absolutely nothing better than a poorly photoshopped meme could
>>12263750tl;dr
>>12263954Play more Saturn
>>12264037Oh no another /vr/etard having meltdowns over a meme!
>>12264039there is no "more saturn"
best: getting a Sega Genesis with Jurassic Park, which I really wantedworst: we were on the road so wasn't able to play itbespoke: once I did play it, it wasn't very good
>>12264248you are brown lol
>>12263624Finding where my dad stashed the presents early and reading the Pokémon Gold/Silver guidebook over and over before Christmas
>>12264338X-Men and Jurassic Park were two Sega games that were very popular and sold very well despite being sort of dogshit.
do not redeem this thread jannies
>>12264256Saturn only has Nights? Okay...
>worstevery year with family>bestevery year alone
>>12264412no it's not okay
>>12264472Yeah, let's pretend all the other games don't exist
>>12263624I'd be crying too if I got a Chinese knock off Sega Saturn and bootleg NiGHT's as a kid. I mean, where's my bootleg SoniMario game at?
>>12263624Mostly all follow the same theme of well off but frugal parents buying cheaper knockoffs hoping I wouldn't be able to tell, then yelling at me in frustration when I don't want Tiger LCD games instead of Gameboy, or Atari 2600 Mario Bros instead of an NES with SMB. I love my family & didn't want to seem ungrateful but felt insulted they thought I was just a dumb little kid they could trick to save a few bucks. My dad was an engineer & spent loads on himself, but my sister and I were like annoyingly expensive pets to him. Also misunderstandings that stretch belief, like confusing Marvin the Martian with Sonic the Hedgehog because of his crested helmet, or buying Zoids instead of a Megazord because they sound similar. I actually really enjoyed putting together the Zoids, thoughbeit. They did eventually find a compromise where they would buy up a dozen last gen games recommended by the pimply teenage game store clerk from the bargain bin. They saved money, I got a huge curated library of good games, just a few years out of date. So Christmas 1992 was all NES games for example (FF1, FF2, Blaster Master) Christmas 2000 was all N64 games (Banjo, Conker, PD)
>>12264338The Lost World ruled though
>>12264502The PS1/SS game? Yes
>>12264515No the Genesis open world game by Argonaut
>>12264248ask gpt the best way to kill yourself
>>12263624Unfortunately never got games for Christmas and when I got consoles it was for my birthday which is in mid November, so... I'll call it close enough and share:Best was my dad getting me WF Warzone for the PS1. Looking back it was kinda ass but damn did I have fun with it. We got another game that day, but I can't remember what it was. I sunk so many hours into it.Worst? My aunt got me one or two more games some other time and I got fucking Punky Skunk. I actually played it a lot and it is probably not that bad, but I still regret it.
>get n64 for christmas>tv doesn't have the right hookups>all stores closed for christmaslooking back I kind of feel bad for my parents on this one, but they made the same mistake with the Wii years later by not opening the box to make sure everything's working beforehand.
>>12263624>bestParents let me drink a glass of red wine when I was 7 and play Genesis until 2am.Also getting my first PC and GTA 2 as my first game when I was 11Don’t really have any bad memories associated with Christmas
>>12264524Then no
>>12264501Found the jew.
>>12264594You spoiled ingrate whore.Pinky Skunk was/is great.Nigga farts skunkass on enemies.
>>12264381Jurassic park rampage edition for Genesis was fucking insane though. Best JP game everMy best Xmas gaming memory 1998 was getting ocarina 2 weeks early because I was spending Christmas at my dads so I got to play it all Christmas breakNowadays my best Xmas gift I get is a bj, which is great. But vidja is still fun
>>12264725You still didn't have a composite TV or a VCR by the time the Wii came out?
>>12264867Also Christmas 2000 was awesome, I was a n64 kid as outlined above but psone was out for Christmas and I had gotten that plus RE3 from my dad since it was only like $100. That year was at my dads as well and I had gotten FF7 the week before from one of my grandmas so I was ultra hyped to play it and played the hell it of those two games. I remember even first asking for ff9 and having my mom tell my grandma to get ff7 instead (guess it was no problem finding it new in 2000). Good shit
Best memory: getting Road Rash for PC and playing it all week. It was so fun. I loved Road Rash II and it was a great upgrade. I have no bad Christmas memories because I was PC only and I was used to shit not working from time to time

>>12263796Fuck your AI slop. Kill yourself. Nobody wants to see that shit you fucking loser.
>>12264870sorry, i knew the post would be confusing after posting it. the issue was different for the wii, but stemmed from my parents not testing things beforehand. the wii had issues reading discs.
>>12264976Don’t speak for everyone. I like it
>>12263624Imagine being the kid who got "Nights Into Dreams" for Christmas, instead of getting Tomb Raider, or Mario 64, or Duke Nukem 3D, or Quake, or even Pokemon Red/Blue. No, instead you get the game about a gay elf that flies through rings.
>>12264998>Imagine being the kid who got "Nights Into Dreams" for Christmas, instead of getting Tomb RaiderAwesome
>>12263667>>12263624this is AI. and pls instead post DOA slot animations.
>>12265017t. Poor soul that just such a thing happened to. You have my pity.
>>12265024I already had Tomb Raider on PC, it's also on Saturn.Nights would make for a better xmas game
People here legit call getting a game they didn’t want for Christmas a bad memory
>What are your bestGetting a 486DX2/66 machine with a Creative Discovery Multimedia Set (the first one). Doom and Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold were cool but Star Wars Rebel Assault was the true shit (too bad that rail-slop felt cool for just two days but then I still had Doom and a lot of other nice (pirated) stuff)).
>>12263624best: getting 007 Goldeneye in '97 and Zelda OOT in '98worst: WWF No Mercy in 2000 but only because the seller sent me the NTSC version instead of PAL so I had to get the adapter that only came around the 15th of January. Looking back it was better that way because the PAL version was bugged.
>>12265058Sometimes you have to be ungrateful to stand up for yourself.
>>12265635side note: for Christmas '96 me and my brother wanted a Saturn with Nights so bad, but when my parents went to get it, the guy who worked for the shop told them that it wasn't a great idea because finding game for it was difficult so they preordered an N64 (every retailer had Nintendo and Sony stuff, the same didn't go for the Saturn). For xmas 96 they ended up getting us a second Genesis (we already had one) and a bunch of games for it. Then the next year my family got me the preordered N64 for my first communion.
>>122636241998 when my parents got me a PS1 with Symphony of the Night and Jumping Flash 2, about a year after i convinced them to sell the Saturn after hearing that Sonic X-Treme got cancelled. Totally worth it, those games were the shit.
>>12264481Go through the saturn’s library and you’ll see they’re all ports or bad games.
Best:xmas 2001, I was a 6yo getting an N64 with Pokémon Stadium 2 and Mario Kart, it had 2 controllers: grey and purple. I gave the purple one to my little sister.Worst:Christmas 2008, my mother told me that if my school grades averaged 90 or more, I’d get an Xbox 360. I managed to hit the average, but scored in 70 and something for Chemistry. Being honest, I told her about it, and she ended up returning the Xbox, leaving me with nothing. I thought maybe I hiding info was right. maybe I should have lied and said I had over 90 in everything (I had some perfect scores in different subjects that made up for that 70), but I didn’t. Later, I told my dad (my parents were divorced), and he said that was all nonsense. He bought me a motherfucking PS3 with Metal Gear Solid 4, the 80GB edition.I had mixed feelings. The PS3 was more expensive, fancier, and MGS4 was the game of 2008, but all my friends had an Xbox 360, and I wanted to play Gears of War and Halo 3 with them, But using watching bluray as an excuse to invite girls over was better. That New Year’s Eve, after my father talking with my mother, I moved in with him. My mom said she was right 'cause she meant that I was supposed to get all 90s and higher but she told me 90 in average. Years later, I realized my father wasn’t upset because she returned the Xbox, but because of the ridiculous ideas I might get from the kind of nonsense my mother could come up with.
