Have any anons experienced the 90s-2000s import scene?

From what i know there were forums dedicated to the topic, it was mentioned a couple times in webcomics, and a few times in print media (gamefan, picrel.)

It looked pretty comfy, if you guys have any stories, please share.

Me too. I even dated a former Hello Project idol.

It was the same as now.
>email a guy
>work out payment
>wait for it to ship
It just wasn’t as centralized as it is now. Only thing lost is actually talking to people, which some people may not care for. I would always get things from this one dude who would pack it in newspapers and toss in some candy for me.

As a south cone chad it wasn't uncommon to see bootlegs of sfc games like Gundam Endless duel or Spriggan Powered, PS1 era piracy made it even easier to play jap games..

>From what i know
As usual just about everything zoomies "know" is wrong.

Not the slightest bit interested. You've already turned what little "information" you have into stupid drivel.

But of course you did, sweaty. You moved there to live with your antuie and uncle who worked at nintendo after your life got flip turned upside down.

When Pokemon Silver first came out in Japan (before USA) I imported it off ebay for maybe 60 dollars. I was in 7th or 8th grade and played through without any rune knowledge and had a blast.
I don't believe I imported any other games but the arcade in town for some reason only had import titles in the early-mid 00s, all 20c plays too. Jambo Safari, Fist of the North Star, Lets Go Jungle, Wangan Midnight, Ocean Hunter, LAMG/GBNY, HOTD, Battle Gear, FZero AX, Panic Park, Outrun 2, all Japanese. Life was good.
