Rumor is that Todd is working on a soft remake of this. Is Daggerfall worth playing in 2025? I've never played a TES game but the sheer size of this one intrigues me.

Daggerfall is more of a sandbox than a proper storydriven RPG like the later games. There’s a ton of systems and freedom (arguably more than later titles), but most of the content is random and pretty forgettable. The world looks huge on the surface but you will realize its a load of nothing but emptiness and fast travel as you play. Quests are repetitive and don't really have any connecting storylines other than just the mainquest itself, which can be pretty realistic isn't interesting for a game IMO.If you’re already into Elder Scrolls and don’t mind old/clunky design, it can be fun to mess around in. Just don't be fooled by the "size", its still a load of nothing. There are things to appreciate though

>>12265117>the sheer size of this one intrigues meOutside of towns and dungeons, it's just empty terrain. The space between them only exists to give the world scale. It takes multiple real-life hours to walk from one place to the next, so you're expected to fast-travel between them.
