Finally got to see that Earthbound concept art in higher quality. Thanks anon.These enemy designs look much more surreal and inventive than what we got in the final release. They were most likely still tossing around ideas in early 1991 before they finalized the plot, locations and characters so these were likely scrapped around the time Iwata stepped in to aid them in development. Until now I only saw >>12277590 and the sprite mockups from anons talking about it on /v/. There was some hot debate going on about the fridge sprite being faked after an anon drew it from memory, which experts on Twitter tried to pass it off as fake until proper images were taken which proved that fridge sprite was real after all. All of these images come from last year's Mother 2 exhibition which prohibited participants from taking photos with exception of the clay sculptures which were already based on their finalized designs. Cool to see the rest here, happy to download all of it.
