Why the hell does the platform have an acceleration instead of being a fixed speed? And why the hell those asshole cones that deviate and accelerate the ball come up in the first fucking level?
>>12265914The arcade game used an analog spinner, and the premiere home versions did too.
doh it again
Just play the Game Boy version
when i was a kid my i sometimes spent time hanging in the restaurant my mom's friend worked in, and they had an arkanoid table set up for free play. i played a hell of a lot of it, it was fun.
>>12265914you need one of these.if you dont have one then useing a mouse works well
>>12265914if you're playing the arcade version using MAME you can tweak the analog controls so they arent so sensitive
Unpopular opinion: Expand > Laser
>>12267423WowLooks almost impressive
>>12265914Map the controls to the mouse, zoom zoom
If you use a mouse you didn't beat the game
>>12265914It's supposed to be a trackball game. Get a trackball, configure your emulator and anjoy
>>12268723a trackball would be useless. it uses a dial.
Who /blasterball2/ here?
why the hell would a game have a "skip the level" powerup?
>>12268652I'm not a zoomer, I was born in 2000, literally pushing 30.
>>12269416That's generation Z, man. Without being so flippant, what I meant is that all decent computer ports/clones of Arkanoid had mouse support since it was designed with analog controls (a spinner, originally) in mind, and it was clear you hadn't played them, or you'd know.Speaking of clones, my favorite is probably BreakQuest which is now freeware.>>12268718Using a mouse is harder than a spinner since you can run out of space and then have to lift it and pull it back. This also reminds me that I used to play marble madness (in MAME) with an upside down ball mouse. Not all of them worked, some mice had the ball drop too much and lose contact with the wheels.
>>12269434having a fun time with this one, thanks for the rec
>>12269576glad to hear it, I think it might have been the first indie game I bought online and I liked it so much that I bought my father a copy as well
>>12269416Have we gotten to the point where generations are just vibes?
>>12269985we're definitely getting there, I see people use boomer/zoomer as derogatory synonyms of old/young quite often
>>12268359Agreed. Laser is fun until you get cucked by a level with gold blocks. Expand is always useful and increases your survivability, plus the sound is nice.
>>12268961It’s worth 10,000 points
>finally get Expand>lose it instantly because the ball always goes right where another powerup is falling and now that I'm wider they are easier to grabfml
