How do I play this fucking game?
>>
>>12267016
On ps1
>>
>>12267016
Like Splinter Cell but with multiple characters at once.
>>
>>12267016
>spoon feed me
Lurk more, get gud.
>>
1. turn the auto-aim on
2. play "lone wolf" mode (i.e. without your team and planning)
3. enjoy your smooth progression
4. congrats, you're gay
>>
The other teams serve a purpose.
>>
Compatibility mode on windows xp and cross your fingers
Or download Black Ops
>>
>>12267016
With a mouse and keyboard.

Plan routes for simulatious breaches and use the commands to keep everyone synchronized.
Use flashbangs and breaching charges.
Use overwatchs and let alerted enemies funnel into killzones.
(Optional) Retry levels to improve your battle plan to be flawless.

What I love most about this game, and the first one, is that it filtered the fuck out of reviewers at the time, who apparently didn't understand the mechanics of the game. Some gave it a 7 or an 8, commenting how it was "fun" but commented how "inconsistent" the team mate AI was in how they spotted and reacted to things...Despite the fact that each team mate has different stats, specifically in regards to Reflexes, which controls target acquisition, snap-aim speed, reaction delay, and time till weapon is raised, and Leadership, which affects reaction speed following commands, formation discipline, and likelihood of hesitation, and Morale, which can cause AI team mates to freeze up, take longer to fire, or wound team mates or hostages...

It would be funnier if it wasn't so sad that reviewers, the one fucking job they were hired to do, are incapable of reading the fucking manual for the game they are reviewing.

Honestly, I falt like some of the stats didn't make that much of a difference, so it was probably pure skill issue on their part. Once I did a full campaign run using only the masked recruits (except for when I deployed snipers) to avoid getting the named units killed, and they performed ok most of the time, although not optimal

The biggest difference is notable in demolitions, stealth, and electronics skills, where it takes forever to pick doors, defuse bombs, and access computer files and plant bugs if they're low.

I love the sense of scale of Rainbow Six maps. They feel very authentic and believable.

the hard truth of those first two games is that the AI planning doesn't really work, at least not in the way the game sells it. you should never rely on AI to do anything but the most canned, perfunctory actions like a single room breach or moving to position through cleared paths. doing fancy shit like flanking maneuvers and cover fire is just going to get them wasted, basically any open ended interaction with enemies, don't do it. think of it like a normal singleplayer fps(obviously played in a more cautious cornerpeeking way) with character switching and the occasional coop action.

What I love about the original RS (and all the addons) is it didn't have ragdoll physics (like in Raves Shield). Looked much more realistic.
>>
>>12269284
Ah yes, the infamous immersion-killing ragdoll of all early 2000's games. I feel like ragdoll only became "good" around 2006, when they started using physics to merge it with animation to make it seem more natural, like with Vegas and Left 4 Dead.
>>
>>12269290
that's besides the fact that people don't do anything close to a ragdoll unless they get hit by a shotgun close range or instant brain death. if they get shot anywhere elso they're going to go into a pain response and crumple.

Install black ops standalone mod
Profit
>>
>>12267016
Get fucking good, wallbang, use your grenades, your entire squad gets access to them too just don't spam multiple in a single room or in open spaces, also use the patch that increases the reaction times of enemy NPCs from 0.02 miliseconds to something more humane

I always called it solid snake mode.

The map design is really nice and interesting.

Train Station on Black Thorn is one of the most technically challenging levels in the tactical shooter genre.
>start underground
>cramped corridors
>plenty of snipe positions from the enemy
>hostages in the train on the second floor
>they might see you outside if you're not careful
>sniping enemies inside the train doesn't full neutralize the enemies holding the hostages and can result in a failure
>lots of open space in the main terminal
>large open air area outside the train with lots of climbing and open air funneling and catwalks
>requires precise flashbanging inside the train because of all the seats that can block its pop-off

It takes a ton of planning, and then even better execution because of all the ways geometry can block nades and bangs.

i just abused the heartbeat sensor alot. trying to figure out how to not trigger hostage kills is a bit more arbitrary depending on the map.

Oh yeah, those are some of the stats that you can certainly notice. Also, is there something like a "break" point? I'm sure I've seen a video of one of the bots just losing it and just mag dumping

>>12269243
The street market and the big parking lot with mall levels in Urban Operations are some of my favorites because of this, especially with the civilians running around in the first part of the former. Also that villa in Rogue Spear where you have to rescue the advisor and informant had some nice interiors. Even the GBA version of Rogue Spear had some nice locales

The team leader's Leadership stat modifies the Self-Control of everyone else on that team - high Leadership improves it (less snapping), low worsens it (more snapping). When an AI snaps due to low Self-Control, their Aggression takes over: high Aggression leads to overkill/extreme force, like firing bursts in empty rooms, accidental rounds, or stray shots wounding hostages/teammates (your exact scenario). This is exacerbated in Blitz speed (fast movement = wilder shots) or Assault mode.
