Wow, what a disappointment. I was hoping to play the PC version of this, that is to say after playing the N64 version replay the game with keyboard+mouse and therefore have more precise controls than with my controller.Instead the mouse controls are quite literally unplayable. Instead of proper mouse look, all it does is mimic a joystick with a huge deadzone (that you can't get rid of) too. There is no fix for this, not even a mod. How did noone make a mod to fix this.
>>12267107if you wanted to play pc star wars simulator, there is x-wing. this is the console reduction so it makes no sense to send this to pc. those games can sometimes be unplayable and no one cares enough.
>>12267107It has a controller support If you need xinput to directinput download xidi from github
>>12267107I'll never understand the concept of Rogue Squadron. There was only ever one skilled pilot in the rebel alliance and it was Luke, and only because he had the force. Every other pilot was annihilated on screen every time. Even Wedge got smoked in the first Death Star battle and had to retreat. Han was ordinary, too. His ship was fast and had strong shields, that's it. In the chase scene the TIE fighters outmanuever and land several shots across the Falcon which would have ended it if that was their intention, however, as Leia mentions, "They let us go." As they were intending to track the Falcon back to the rebel base. In Empire Strikes Back, Han spends the entire movie fleeing from them, too. Yet, Rogue Squadron paints the rebels as elite pilots capable of wiping out entire imperial garrisons? Look what happened to the snow speeders on Hoth, even Luke got shot down there. Pure cringe and shits all over the established source material.
>>12267107Ditch the mouse. I finished it with keyboard alone and it plays fine.>>12267264It wasn't Rogue, but a Red squadron that attacked DS1. A regular X-Wing squadron since rebels color-coded their starfighters depending on hardware and assignments. It's high casualties at Yavin convinced rebel command to establish an elite squadron for unusual tasks (by Red Squadron standards).>HanBy then he was a smuggler, not a fighter pilot anymore, so yeah he wasn't at his top. Also he was never a Rogue.>Yet, Rogue Squadron paints the rebels as elite pilots capable of wiping out entire imperial garrisons?Rogue Squadron specialised in surprise attacks on planets otherwise not seeing much action, you know, being a special operations unit. The only time they had to face the imperial navy was as a part of a larger rebel fleet.>HothThey were both understaffed and flying the settings equivalent of Toyota War technicals. The actual X-Wings, their usual hardware, was used to escort evacuation ships.

>>12267264Did you miss the part where it takes place after RotJ and thus they are no longer a force of essentially space-terrorists fighting the empire with whatever scrapped together ships and pilots they could get and now had actual skilled fighter pilots in charge?
>>12267107Rogue Squadron is a poor man's X-Wing Alliance. Although the planet surface battles nicely differentiate it from those games.
Christmas day playing this fresh out the box with a Sidewinder joystick was way cooler than an N64 controller, get some joystick
