what's weird is that although shmups are a dead genre they are also very overrated and overhyped, not by normies but by shmupfags themselves constantly acting like there's some hidden meaning and prestige to these games when there's nothing beyond the surface

The only drawback is that we played online with 70ms, and that didn't even bother us, it just made games like Battletoads and its turbo tunnel off limits.

working through metal slug advance. its great fun actually even if i see why people who played it on an emulator hate it. its like learning to clear a full run of metal slug but in pick up and play chunks.
SDOJ fucks my ass every day and it feels amazing. I wish non-arcade games could do the same.
