Fun fact: Apparently if you use cheap component cables with a cheap scaler on a PS2 there's a subtle flickering that's just fast enough to cause temporary image retention on LCD screens (or in my case, LCD screen with an LED backlight.) Guess the game from the health bar.

>>12269736So, emulation is the way to go?
>>12269825Objectively, yes. Subjectively, no.
>>12269825No, use real hardware. If you emulate, have fun trying to fix every game instead of playing and being distracted by all the graphical glitches
I use a scart cable i made myself with sync-on-luma and a RGB to component converter
>>12269896But the OP pic also shows graphical glitches without emulation?
>>12269736
>>12270921He is using a cheap third party cable and an lcd. No shit
>>12270921>>12271032>>12269825Turning off line doubling on the RetroScaler2x fixed it and it barely looks any worse. Still getting a new cable because the dark areas are waaaaayyyyy too dark even with maxed brightness and gamma.
>>12271093also I beat Maximo, excellent game
>>12269736I don't get why you wouldn't already have or buy some cables if your scaling. Worse yet is you watching fag park>>12269825SAAAR GOOD MORNING!! MY EMULATOR IS 100% A SUPA POWER LIKE INDIA
>>12271797>indian tries to call other people indians
>>12271884It's true though. Any retard can setup an emu. That doesn't make you special. It takes the lower intellect of a jeet or tard to go, "Saar do you know you can play that on an emulator! +ishaat to me" There's something neat about hardware and your post adds nothing to this discussion besides the self attempt to validate your choice to not play these things authentically

>>12271916Fuck monster cables. Are zoomers really coming full circle and recommending this audiophile snake oil? They aren't even good cables. They are more likely to damage your shit than any brand I've ever owned because the cables fit so tight they ruin the connectors. Monster cables were always a litmus test of stupid you are
>>12272256That's on you dude. Monster cables were pricey, but weren't snake oil. They provide a real nice sharp image on my retrotink 4k. You either weren't there or just found them expensive. They only damage your shit if you're some baboon who has to pull something out. Your suppose to spin the connector and it lessens the death grip. You're free to keep using your cheap cables. I just offered a good/easy solution.

>>12271916I got the HD Retrovision cables because they were recommended by multiple people online
>>12271916son them damn things are so tight they'll rip the rca connectors right off the solder joints. hell they'll rip the damn tube out too. the gold gate bridge is suspended using monster component cables.
>>12271892>That doesn't make you specialWho are you arguing with? Nobody said that it's some sacred ritual.
>>12269736IPS screens do not handle flickering wellIt will dissipate though

>>12269825Same thing can happen with emulation, King's Field IV burned it's hud and menu into my monitor for a few hours.
>>12273430So the only option is to not play videogames?
>>12273430Enjoy your dedicated King's Field IV monitor
>>12273390I don't get why these cables upset you. It's just silly. You're free to keep using Oem solutions or hd retrovision ones. At least on my ps2, the Monster cable is as sharp as Mike chi's adapter on my setup
Okay got my new cables. They are slightly better and fix the overly dark areas. But I found out the problem is entirely the RetroScaler2x, if you enable 2x mode the picture jitters slightly. Is this a known issue with the RS2X on PS2?
>>12274848>thinkin you are retarded means I'm upsetretard
i had a shitty xerox 4:3 plasma monitor circa 2005 and was on 4chan so much that the sidebar was burned into it
