Let's have a thread to post pics which show how dedicated video game stores looked like in the 90's. I think it will be interesting to see what their demo kiosks looked like, which posters, banners, cardboard standees they used, etc.
>>
There are so many people playing in demo kiosks here it almost feels like an arcade:

normally the kiosks were either unoccupied or there was that one fat kid standing at it for 2 hours straight while his mom shopped despite the fact that it was set up to reset the console every 5 minutes

That was me

Anyone have pics from the game kiosks from Macy's in the early 90s? I remember their video game sections were always kinda tucked away in the back of the kids clothing section in a little four sided island of glass display cases, with demo kiosks at the corners and an employee in the center.

This man was about to create an historical document of inestimable worth (that store might have had a NES demo kiosk, a really early pre-Sonic Genesis kiosk or a Turbografx one), but then...

This was also me. But for me it was the Nintendo Power Previews kiosks. It was on Laserdisc and you could select short video clips to watch from various games. Seeing a game in motion was rare unless you actually played it back then so this was pretty cool. All the ones in my area had a variant that had a second monitor and you could play whatever the SNES game of the month was. So I could play games while watching ads. Just put me right in front of one of these things I'd probably never leave.

While searching for pictures of Software, Etc. I came across a few that showed them rebranding as GameStop. I knew GameStop bought Electronics Boutique (by then EB Games) but I did not remember they bought Software ETC which specialized in PC games as well as console games

They actually had a decent game section and tried to advertise it as "Sears Funtronics". They always had demo stations - it was the first place I remember playing Mario Kart.

my happiest fondest memories right in the nostalgia feels. I still remember the first time I ever saw Mario 64 store demo was so amazing. I also remember even though I was a big sonic fan we couldn't afford the Saturn and I was sad but I got to play the Sonic R demo at Toys R' Us.

There's plenty but it's hardly complete. Here's a playlist that also includes lots of random marketing videos. That Scott Wolf guy from the DKC video is all over the ones from 1994.
