I don't see the value in "difficult" games
It's just button inputs, there's no actual skill and especially no transferable real world skill
I don't see how beating a hard game has any value compared to literally any hobby IRL
Help me understand

Personally I wouldn't say the achivement has value itself, it's more about enjoying the challenge.
People who claim to be superior for hard games or added handicaps are utterly retarded. Just play what you feel is fun be it through challenge or easygoing-ness.
>inb4 le wrong opinion to have cause muh gaymer brownie points

transferable real skill is military. if you’re good at games you can fly drones and tanks and stuff like that.

>enjoying the challenge
this is all it is, it’s very hard but lots of fun and so satisfying to beat the black car in ridge racer

or doing some crazy shit like beating a game hitless or speedrunning, which is insane and sometimes might require frame perfect stuff but that's what makes it fun to some.
I will say, I do enjoy being able to say I did something difficult, but being too prideful to the point of superiority is lame.

99% of Dodonpachi worshippers have never played it for more than 20 minutes
They want the street cred of being an oldfag gamer without achieving anything substantial in those games

Then you will love Caveslop which are easier than real shmups

Doing everything on easy mode is for women

Difficult games lose their appeal as you get older and have less free time and energy. "I'm going to make you play my game for hundreds of hours just to stretch out the runtime!" I have a job and a mortgage to deal with, and I can't stay up all night just to grind away at a single game. If you want me to spend a lot of time on your game, justify it without artificially lengthening it.

I get the appeal of improving and struggle IRL, like scaling a mountain
But to put in so many hours for a videogames arbitrary challenge is insane
>>
>>12270684
how many hours will you spend arguing with a wall about it

Helping you to understand this has no value to me.
