For me, it's Revenge of the Dragon for the Sega Portable Video Game System.
Oh look, vertical scanlines, just like the Atari Lynx.
>>12271219That doesn't look like a pinball game
>>12272228>scanlinesWhen will /vr/ ever learn?
>>12271219>using original GG screen as opposed to a moderm replacement Baste
>>12271219Was this game released for the Sega 8-Bit?
>>12272247Not OP, but what's the point otherwise? Why do mouth-gapers keep modding ancient consoles to do what every emulator does for free?
>>12272270>why do an EV conversion when you can just buy a new EV?that's what you sound like
>>12272270Some GG screens can be of pretty poor quality, and apparently some models are prone to screen connector failures which are difficult (impossible?) to adequately repair. So in some cases, sure, I can understand the desire to replace, but on the other, I do consider display tech to be an integral part of the experience of using original handheld hardware, so when you replace it with something else, you aren't getting the "true" experience, for better or worse.I have two GGs, an early Japanese one and a somewhat later US one, both recently recapped, and the screen quality is markedly different between the two, with the Japanese one being on the low end of mediocre, with the US one really not being bad at all (however, said screen is the model which is apparently prone to partial screen failures, so who knows how long it will continue to function properly). It seems like so many people are eager to replace GG screens nowadays that I find it had to gather much information with regard to which production runs have "good" screens with better response times and less vertical banding/streaking
>>12272308>I'm gonna buy a 1960s Volkswagen bug and then put a CD player in it and rip out the interior and make it modern with a Subaru from 2000>it'dz guna be priddy sweet guizezThat's what you sound like.
I got one for christmas. I need to crack it open to see what revision it is so I can order caps and probably a new screen. Need an everdrive too so I can actually play games.

I had one back in day and I liked it a lot, but the controls don't hold up, not for adult hands methinks. So in a bit of irony, the beardos are buying and modding GG's for their false nostalgia, while I either emulate them and find that experience to be superior, or I just don't care anymore to keep it authentic like that because it didn't age well enough.Loved Ax Battler btw.
>>12272228why every 3d game on mega drive has them for the walls? those vertical stripes, the wolf3d port has them too and zero tolerance? is it because the only way to 3d on a 68k is for scanline? but its vertical?
>>12272402Some like to improve the functionality of their hardware and don't care if it's entirely OEM. I agree that having unmodified hardware is nice as a museum piece, which is also why you're saying that using emulation is better. You're a complete retard for missing the point this badly
>>12272246What are they called then
>>12273517scan lines are from the electron beam in a CRT.LCDs from that era are backlit by a flourescent tube and are the pixels are illuminated by microscopic wire sandwiched between the glass and liquid crystal solution. All you are seeing is a very low resolution 160x144 pixels LCD display. since you dont understand the technology, you are just using the term wrong.
Well since we're getting autistic about lcd, I'm looking at the replacement screen solutions and from what I gather the bennvenn ones are the only screens that don't have a tearing issue due to the a minor refresh rate mismatch
>>12271219Game Gear was SOVL and I wish /vr/ showed it more love.
