do people actually pay this much? lol.
Pretty sure i see hucksters at cons trying to sell it for 3000.
All that money for an extremely mid game...Shame on you for overhyping this game Sega fans
>>12271609Apparently.
>>12271609I do. I sell boxes full of reproductions of every valuable collectible you can imagine. They even sell them with counterfeit “grading” and certificates of authenticity. There is truly nothing more profitable than millennial nostalgia.
>>12271609Considering you can just burn a copy on a CD-R and play it on an actual Saturn with an Action Replay or Kai cartridge I just don't understand why anyone would ever pay that much? I get the purists that want to play on actual hardware but there are so many better ways to play the games now then spending hundreds or more on a 30 year old disc.
>>12271621nice fantasy emulator poorfag
>>12271621king.
>>12271627bro he scams people like you
>>12271609I paid about half that. The game's actually dropped in value.
>>12271624They want the authentic disc and packaging, it's really not that hard to understand. If Panzer Dragoon is their favorite game, they're gonna get a real copy.I pirate and burn 95% of my games, but the last 5% are real copies of games that cost me $100 or more because they're my favorites.
>>12271630I have more money than people like you and I have all the cool shit that people like you are mad about not having
>>12271627My good friend I was inspired by a legit company that will make a box just for you to put your burned CD into for $30.I just found a Chinese company to make me some custom CDs that look like and play like the originals
>>12271624the kind of unconscious biomass who spends 1000$ on a game never even play them.
>>12271609yeah i sell chinese reproductions for that much all the time
The entire collector market is irrational. TCG as the biggest example
I've paid around $400 for games a couple times, and $600 for a box set. The most I've ever paid for any collectible was $2000 for an MTG card during COVID.
Sold mega man v on gameboy for $1000 few years back
>>12271639Luke 18:25 in a nutshell.
>>12271636It is hard to understand. You already have the game but you want to pay more for paper and plastic packaging,
Yes. I make 140K a year with a cheap mortgage with no kids and if I wanted this I would add it to my collection.Thinking about getting a net yaroze machine for the next big purchase.
>>12271774it’s a dopamine thing. Finishing the game isnt enough. They need to display something they think will impress people. Post pictures of it on reddit. This is what happens to men when they get really fucking soft. I love my retrogames and i wasted too damn much money on it before I got married and had kids. But that was 2001-2012. Way before prices got insane. Unfortunately, my kids dont “get it” and have zero interest in my primative game nostalgia. Thats okay. What I have become more interested in is emulation via SBC, ARM handhelds, and FPGA. I enjoy learning how the atuff works and tinkering. Playing the games has actually become secondary to that now.
>>12271813I just wanted to add that this is a collector’s nightmare. It also made me realize that collecting stuff is less important than having experiences. And since my kids aren’t interested, I am just going to focus on them until they leave the next. then I will retire and hopefully not have arthritis and I can work on my backlog
>>12271813>>12271824I get not collecting but emulation is aids. Get a nice CRT and an ODE of all the consoles you want or a flashcart for the ones without a drive. This seems like normie tryhard cringe. You can still have a social life and be successful even with a collection.
>>12271845im hust explaining why indont see the point. And I still have all ofnmy consoles and 2 CRTs. One with a flat screen tube. It’s just that Inhave cone to realize that I’m no different than a boomer hoarding 23 channel CB radios or toys from the 1950s. emulation is not AIDS at all. it is our only hope for true preservation.
>>12271865It's not hoarding if you actually use it and enjoy it.Are vinyl collector's hoarders if they spend every weekend listening to their records?
>>12271869Yes if they play the MP3s instead of the records because they want to preserve the records. Which is basically what I started doing with my aging consoles
>>12271643I think that's fine as long as you stated that's what you're doing in bold print.
>>12271873If I did that then I couldn’t get some suckers to pay $1000Btw not one single millennial sucker has ever complained. Not a single one of them has ever opened the “graded, sealed, and certified” packaging to even check if I sold them a $500-1200 reproduction.Btw nearly all of them were shipped to Austin TX so I just ripped off a bunch of rich Silicon Valley expat faggots
>>12271881Then you're a dirty thief and what you do WILL be meted back onto you. Have fun with that later. And it will strike when you least expect it.
>>12271883Sorry but that doesn’t really happen to my people
>>12271883Honestly, tech bros deserve it
>>12271894You're not wrong about that, but in principle it's still bad.>>12271893lol
>>12271609I mean, I guess if you're a collector. For me personally, after a NDE I don't collect anything anymore. That and I watched a dude who basically had a video game museum in his basement get flooded and lose almost everything in an day.
>>12271870Some consoles are basically immortal though. I think some of them like a N64,Atari 2600 or a Sega Genesis will probably keep working without issues for decades to come. Obviously anything with an optical disc drive or hard drive will be much more prone to failure, it's just the nature of that kind of hardware.
>>12271912You would think that but the #1 issue killing Xboxes right now is a leaking clock capacitor and not failing mechanical drives.
>>12271881On one hand I think what you're doing is kinda scummy. But on the other hand,I would never ever pay hundreds of dollars for a video game and kinda get disgusted such an inflated marketplace even exists in the first place. I buy games because I want to actually play them not to keep as some financial investment or anything stupid like that. So whatever I guess, you've clearly found a hustle that works and but it's not one I'm ever likely to fall victim too. These old games have no business being so expensive.
>>12271621fucking BASED
>>12271931It's a LARP, anon.
>>12271640Only retards would fall for this. They don't even try to look like an authentic manual precisely so you people can't get away with this.
