December is almost over. What are some retro games that January reminds you of?
>>12274962My answer for this will always be Mega Man X. I remember distinctly renting it in Jan 1994, right around its release and choosing Chill Penguin as my first Maverick as I knew his level would be snowy and bleak like it was outside my house. I was completely blown away by the game. 1994 was a great year for the SNES and it starts off with one of the best games on the system. So yeah I always associate it with that year as well as the time of the year I first played it.
>>12274968MMX is one of my all time faves too and while I can't remember exactly when we got it I remember it was very early so probably the same month. I grew up in Florida so snow was just this rare thing I got to experience when we visited family up north but I actually always liked snow levels for that reason, they were like this special thing to me, a psychological respite from the heat, and I remember picking Chill Penguin first.
