My Heroes.
unc... those are video game consoles
I like the N64, but it really doesn't hold a candle to the PSX
>>12276215Meanwhile the Saturn is caged and in the corner holding the camera.
>>12276227They both had strengths and weaknesses. For the games that were ported to both consoles, the N64 always edges out the PSX in graphics. I mean seriously, the PSX couldn’t even properly render polygons without it wiggling and jiggling like jello. And the N64 stretched textures just a little too much with too much blur. The only advantage the PSX ever had was FMVs.And even RE:2 proved that the N64 was more then capable of competing and beating the PSX.I owned both and loved them both
>>12276298Lmao most multiplat were better on PS1 with far better framerate RE2 is much better on PS1,the 64 version doesn't even have the true ending music
>>12276215Both are great consoles full of great games, honestly if you could afford both Sony and Nintendo in any generation you would always get a good time without missing a single good game. Meanwhile the shitturn LOL...>>12276323It really depends if you want fmvs or no loading times.
>>12276323> Lmao most multiplat were better on PS1 with far better framerateRetard take. Watch any side by side comparison video. In 1999 graphics tier was alwaysDreamcast > N64 > PSX
>>12276337i like some n64 games (i genuinely feel like harvest moon 64 is actually better than the psx port) but calling it FULL of great games is kind of weird considering how tiny the library is
>>12276227>Controller actually has an analog stick>Has GoldenEye and Turok gamesIt's not even a comparison. The N64 wins.
>>12276373I mean that both libraries are full of great games regardless of size, of course like any other library you get sport shit and movie shit shovelware but that plagues any game console
>>12276323You are entirely forgetting the games that the PSX was simply unable to run at all, like Quake, StarCraft, Rush 2049, not to mention no 4 player split screen.
>>12276379medal of honor was better and supported two analog sticks
>>12276384psx was not "unable to run" 4 player split screen
>>12276384Yeah, except the PS1 got a better port of Quake II than the N64. Nobody cared about the original beyond its tech demo status, which is why the Shiturn got a port of it just because, and if that pile of crap could run it then the PS1 certainly could.
>>12276402goldeneye supported two sticks as well, but you needed to hold two controllers like a retard
>>12276384CTR had 4-player split screen.
>>12276337>It really depends if you want fmvs or no loading times. But most N64 multiplat has loading time because they need to compress and decompress all the data that the tiny cartridge can't handle
>>12276406you wrote a lot of bullshit, rankeesh
>>12276406Not true. The only reason the PSX. Ever got a port was because it was incapable of running it. And the PSX port of Quake 2 is not Quake 2. >only 20 levels compared to the PC version's 39 levels across 10 units. Most of these levels are modified versions of the PC version's with heavily reworked geometry to fit the console's limitations. The first level is taken from the Quake II (Nintendo 64 version) port.>Similarly, the enemies and weapon models were heavily simplified in polygon count to account for the console's limitations. Picrel is you
I like how it took zero time for the thread to become another console warring mess even if the op didn't say anything negative about both consoles.
>>12276441>it was capable of running the much more demanding Quake II, but not the originalOkay retard. Now go look up how many levels the N64 port has, how many of those are from the PC version and the sacrifices made relative to it. I know you've never played either, which is why you're copying and pasting stuff instead of relaying your experiences, so you'll be in for quite the surprise!
>>12276464The brownification of the web and its consequences
>>12276473I bet your fat belly and man tits jiggle like PlayStation polygons
>>12276464Did you really expect N64 fags to get along with anyone else?
>>12276227I like both, actually
>>12276610>The one that started it was a ps1fagYeah sure.
>>12276464OP knew what they were doing
>>12276664>I like the N64So do I
>>12276679>The one that started it was a ps1fagYou realise we can all read the thread history, right? The one who started it was >>12276298 with the same ridiculous N64fag claims as usual.>N64 always edges out the PSX in graphics>PSX couldn’t even properly render polygons without it wiggling and jiggling like jello>The only advantage the PSX ever had was FMVs.>And even RE:2 proved that the N64 was more then capable of competing and beating the PSX.Nintendrones just love to sling shit and then claim to be the victims.
>>12276778But everything he said was objectively true. Ridge racer 64 looked and played better in N64. So did wipeout, HydroThunder, basically everything just looked closer to the arcade or PC on N64. And the PlayStation did have wiggly jiggly polygons. So did Saturn.
>>12276778He said he loves both consoles and both have strenght and weaknesses, it seems that PS1fans get more pissy if you say anything negative about the PS1 (or even anything positive about the N64).
>>12276215>N64Yuck. Trans-coded console, no thanks.
>>12276215I grew up with both. N64 was waaaaay better. Graphics and bangers on it like SM64 and Turok just weren't possible or had anythign comparable on the PS1. Multiplayer like MK64 and Goldeneye there was no competition. PS1 had some great single player games with nothing comparible on the N64, like MGS, SotN and Gran Turismo. It had the RPGs too, but I didn't really like any of them and just played SNES ones.
>>12277091gee, anon, you sure do know a lot about what trannies like and dislike...
>>12276215>>12276230don't worry i fixed it for you, this is what you really meant
I honestly think the ps1 generation was the best despite what ps2 kids will tell you.
>>12279050I agree. The PS2-era was great, but they're pretty much modern games by the time you get to around 2004 - 05
>>12278604I enjoyed the single player games on N64 as much as the ones on PS1, like yeah the multiplayer was the N64's strongest point, but I found a lot of great SP games on the N64 too.Had a great time with Doom 64, WinBack, Mystical Ninja, Jet Force Gemini and Castlevania 64.
>>12276215best gen, not even debatable.
>>12276215Based
>>122790916th mogs
>>12279181You have no future zoomie
>>12276225Are you his nephew?
I love that it is super easy to emulate everything PSX with a cheap Ryzen 5 mini PC.I’m also happy with my Analogue 3D plus Summercart 64It’s good to be a retro gamer.
>>12276230Ps1 and N64 are having Yaoi sex?
>>12276486It always was this way, retard
