The N64 exclusive level of 2 is shit, but the one in N64 3 isn't bad, worth checking out, and it's accessible from the first hub too iirc.

I reached and played the exclusive levels and called it a day. Outside of the draw distance being worse I didn't notice much difference, though it seemed that the bonus levels in 3 were missing which is a high price to pay to have one level that differs.
