Without mentioning any brand this time because it really isn't an ad, does anyone else almost entirely use wireless receivers in their retro consoles? I'm waiting on a Gamecube one to play Metroid and Rogue Leader
Pretty sure mostly everyone just use whatever controllers they have around.Anyone who says you must buy a retro controller for a legit experience (and then play the game on a emulator anyway) is just baiting replies.

OEM controller + original hardware is the only way for me.
>>12279430I switched to purely wireless controllers since I moved to a bigger home and I don't miss the wires one bit. I've had much better results using adapters and conversion kits than with third party controllers, further testament to just how well console manufacturers were making their crap back in the day.
>>12279430gamecube is a case where sometimes you might want the original controller. mostly due to the weird way the triggers feel where they have a kinda button when you fully press them in. And various other things like octagonal gating on sticks and the button layout all add up
>>12279585I played Perfect Dark with an OEM N64 controller I put a GC-style stick in. I'll brute force a little inaccuracy or extra precision for comfort
I believe if you want to be the absolute best you can be at video games you should probably pick one controller design and just stick with it for everything.
I believe that's dumb as hell
