>playing Win9x games with 120+ Hz VRR
Did I beat the game(s)?

Not unless you ran them in PCem.
>>
>>12280520
You could get a refresh rate like that on a good CRT from the era so I'd say so
>>
>>12280627
but most games back then forced the monitor to run at lower refresh rates
>>
>>12280520
Refresh rate doesn't really matter that much (it is nice to have a high Hz monitor regardless) but high fps is more important. We used to play CSS and TF2 with 200+ fps on a 60Hz monitor. Games felt better that way even with screen tearing.
>9x games
Most 9x games are broken with high fps tho.

>VRR
Absolute godsend for Arcade and DOS games that's for sure. It was the missing piece to make all games scroll super smooth without hiccups (Pinball Fantasies, I'm looking at you).

>Actually playing a game
You didn't beat the game
