Defiance is much better in terms of story as BO2 wasn't written by Amy Hennig and is basically a fancy fanfiction (it is hamfisted into official canon at the end of SR2 but it doesn't matter as that time period is never explored ever again and by the end of Defiance the timeline is rewritten again so BO2 timeline is gone)In terms of gameplay? I actually prefer BO2, Defiance kinda tried to use SO2 as a base and attach DMC-like combat to it but the result is kinda mediocre. Meanwhile BO2 had its own identity and I did enjoy using Kain's abilities.>>12301026It was supposed to end with Dark Prophecy (the next game after Defiance) but then Amy Hennig quit Crystal Dynamics and left three people in charge to manage the game's script. Too bad one of them died in car accident, another also quit CD and I forgot what happened to the last person, but basically the development of the game stopped like six months in and the game was never finished. After that too many vital voice actors have passed away (Elder God, Vorador, Janos, Hylden Lord) or just retired from the industry (Raziel for sure) and nobody dared to continue without them, so instead stuff like Dead Sun / Nosgoth was in development.These days I saw some mediocre remasters and some Raziel-centered book written by literally who, so it's safe to say that either another reboot (see Dead Sun) or remaster/remake galore will ever see in the future, but not the finale for the original series.

Blood omen 2 was easy and interesting jank.Played some of it in the summer.I didn't playthat far because my controller was broken and it was constant struggle.It feels like there was a lot of ambition but none of it made into the game.I like the browngrey simple fantasy look that is somehow similar to lotro.
