>sub-30 fpsAre you fucking kidding me?
Time to take a shit in your low quality thread.
OoT's legacy will outlive you, OP

>>12301248>>12301258>>12301260perfect replies, keep it up
Wait until you play GoldenEye
>>12301237Could it have run at 30fps on N64?
>>12301286It technically ran at 60 fps on the N64, on the file select screen. Its 30 fps in the item menu and 20 when walkin around.
>>12301291I'd like to see the frame limit lifted to see how it really runs when it's not capped
>>12301296The weird thing is that it's not capped. The game still registers inputs at 60 FPS, but only runs at 20. It's fucking weird
>>12301307So it’s bad?I’m right?
OoT was made obsolete with the release of TP. There's zero reason to suffer through it anymore, but it's okay to play for 5 minutes so you can appreciate how much better we have things now.
>>12301319TP is fitting for my backside. OoT is ambrosia, next to any other entry in the Zelda series barring Majora's Mask.
>>12301248>>12301258>>12301260>I played it as a child so everyone has to love it forever
>>12301324>I didnt like it so everyone has to hate it forever!
>>12301336Based Socratic method
>>12301319TP is only exceptional in that it is the worst 3D Zelda game. It's even worse than Skyward Sword, and that game fuckin sucks.
>>12301237Not really that noticeable on a CRT. If anything it gives it a more theatrical immersive feel somehow.
>n64>powerhouse console>knee capped by cartridges>inb4 muh zero load times cope>ps1>uses cd's>console too weak to do dick other than play music or fmv>can't do 3d or 2d well>sega saturn>nobody even knows how it works not even sega>best known for hosting ports for everything>least worst way to play 2d fighters I repeat least worst way to play fighters as in lesser of three evilswhat a joke of a generation literally nothing worked fucking hell
>FPS-tardLike graphic-fags, extremely annoying
>>12301313No, it's perfectly playable at 20 FPS. The PC port allows frame interpolation to achieve upwards of 240 FPS but the game looks really off above 30, like uncanny.
>>12301405Why don't FPS-tards complain about movies only being 24 FPS?
>>12301405Atrocious graphics with smooth framerate > gorgeous graphics with bad framerate.
>>12301438>fps tards and graphics fags are annoying>yeah well as a graphics fag, read my opinion!
Every day this place just becomes more and more like /v/.Fucking hell, can we just ban people born after like, 1992-93 from posting here?
I now stopped liking Ocarina of Time
>>12301237>Play Nshitty4>Get shitty games overhyped because there were 4 games on the system people had to play over and over that ran at 4 frames/sec
>>12301546i'm sorry it didn't have enough dating simulators for you anon. surely you enjoyed wonder project j2, right?
>>12301546But Bangai O, F Zero X, Mischief Makers and Rakuga Kids all run at 60fpsGreat 4 games though
>>12301394>can't do 3d or 2d wellPS1 is incredibly strong at 3d. And ok at 2d.
Why are Ocarina uncs so fragile and triggered by different opinions?
>>12301861Incredible strong at 2D too
>>12302043dithered transparencies looked transparent on a CRT. they did it the exact same way the previous gen with the Genesis
>>12302037why can't zoomlets accept the fact that the last great Nintendo game was made nearly 26 year ago?
The visuals and animation of Legend of the Dragoon outshine Ocarina of Time. While OOT is a great game, it lacks polish, and its 3D models are downright terrible just to name an example. But it was a bit too ambitious, and it did more right than wrong.
>>12302049Yeah yeah and the magic CRT also add the second light ray...
>>12302087wait, you don't have a CRT to play on? are you underage? can't use a shader?
>>12302087>PlayStation is a better 2D machine than the Saturn because the prologue of MMX4 features two light beams instead of just one.You suffer überasperguer.Check out must-play Saturn 2D games like Silhouette Mirage; they might just be the cure you need.
>>12302095It's on PS1 too (and with transparency)
>zoomers invade the board>all they can contribute is a flood of low quality argumentbait threadsone crans-montana nightclub fire wasn't enough
>>12302101I know it’s available on PS1, and I know the Saturn version is definitely better.>transparencyIt's kind of sad that you're comparing two systems meant to be played on CRTs (sort of, I know the PSone had a decent LCD add-on). But it is what it is with überaspergers like you: in your mental illness, you end up comparing emulator screenshots, raw pixels instead of how they actually look on a CRT, or judging 1994 hardware by 2026 standards. I get it: you're not right in the head and you'll drop a third take even dumber than the last. Nothing we can do with a human with a brain wired that weirdly.
>>12302115>I know it’s available on PS1, and I know the Saturn version is definitely better.Nope ugly dithering on Saturn+ additional boss on PS1
>>12301237I honestly never noticed the low FPS, I remember plenty of slowdowns in other games like the Macbeth explosion in Star Fox 64 and the rock crushers in Armored Armadillo's stage in Megaman X, but Ocarina of Time never at any point felt slow to me.
>sub 20 fps
>>12301426the human eye limits itself to 24fps when not interacting with content.
>>12301237N64 was a colossal mistake and almost bankrupted Nintendo. It was saved by Gameboy sales.
>>12302885>N64 was a colossal mistake and almost bankrupted Nintendo.Factually a mistake ,Nintendo make a tons of money during the 64 era more than Sony gaming division
>>12302885Nintendo didn't lose money until the Wii U. They made profit on every N64 system sold, not to mention from games and licensing.
>>12302902>Nintendo make a tons of money during the 64No thanks to the N64, but Thanks to its handheld consoles and the Pokémon phenomenonNintendo wouldn't have survived with just the N64.
>>12302927ok, dumbass
>>12302927Wrong Nintendo made tons of money with the 64,their games sold like crazy and the cartridge format was very profitable for Nintendo
>>12301421I played SoH at 60fps in 4k for an hour and you get used to it quickly, though at first it looked weird. It looks and feels fluid. I eventually decided it was the best way to play despite still having my original cart from 98 Xmas. I have no desire to replay it however.
>>12302959You do you, anon. I'll keep playing it at 20 FPS.
>>12302972>You do youExactly! For everyone.I like having the option.
>>12302936nope>STAR: Pokemon>COW: Handhelds>Q. MARK: Virtual Boy>DOG: N64
>>12302785Between OoT and SotC, why is shitty fps so common among games overhyped by journos?
>>12303027SoTC is a game that pushed the console to its limitsOOT is your average N64 game in terms of performance
>>12301286Very likely. Kaze Emanuar has found massive optimizations in Super Mario 64, so it's likely those same techniques could have been used in Ocarina of Time.
>>12303027uh oh melty
Lower frame rates were smoother back then. 30fps in 1998 looked more like 60fps in 2026. It probably has something to do with time speeding up.
>>12302037>be American millennial>live in cozy upper-middle class area>soccer mom buys you a Nintendo 64 because The 700 Club told her that PlayStation games have blood>parents can also afford you to buy the entire Rareware library>since you are rich and American, your family are also early adopters of the internet>lo and behold, everyone else online is also a rich American from a Nintendo 64 household>Ocarina group masturbation session ensues>The internet universally agrees that ReDeads are the scariest things ever invented because none of you ever played Silent Hill>Internet gaming culture is built upon the idea that everyone owned a Nintendo 64 and everyone agrees Ocarina of Time is unambiguously the best game ever made>Fast forward 20 years>Euros, Aussies, and working class Americans are now online>You find out that the Nintendo 64 absolutely fucking bombed outside of middle America and nobody gives a fuck about Ocarina of Time>Even in the US the N64 was massively outsold by the PS1, let alone abroad>Persecution complex ensues>"This can't be........did.....did I shit my pants over Wind Waker's graphics for nothing?">Start calling Ocarina underrated due to the fact that people who've played more than 1 fucking game don't think it's the best
today, i will remind them
Has someone tried to do improvements in the code like Kaze Emmanuar did with Super Mario 64?Maybe with the newer microcodes they can improve the framerate.
>>12303389the best you'll ever get is frame interpolation
>>12301237No, I did not kid you.
>>12303372But PS1 cost more than N64 though. You were just on the internet with other kiddos talking about your kiddie games.
>>12303602Only early on. Sheltered American Millennials got their news and info from nintendo power and knew how important it was to wait for Ultra 64 or else Mario would be mad.
>>12303378>journalist opinionsWhy do uncs care so much about this
>>12303372>let me tell you in a 1000 word copypasta how YOU are the fragile oneuh oh......................................melty
>>12301421Don't know about OoT, but I played the MM port and the 60fps on my screen that can't do more than that was amazing to play.
>>12301237Never go to the movies?
>>12306103OP cries, shits and pisses himself in the theater while shouting at anyone around him how they're able to watch a movie
>>12306103Films are a steady 24 fps. OoT is 20 fps with a ton of drops.
>>12303372Baaaaaaased
>>12301237Cinematic kino that cannot be appreciated by the rabble.
>>12306725The only bad frame drops I really notice in OoT is when you kill Stalfos in the Forest Temple (from the Stalfos' skeleton checking for collision with every piece of geometry in the dungeon due to a coding error) and during the Ganondorf boss fight (the floor tiles falling are all individual actors having their 3D coordinates being updated in real time all at the same time)
>>12301237auster ever having sub 45 bmi? are you kidding me?
>>12302989>capitalism >for everyone choose one

>>12306725>with a ton of drops. Why are you lying though.
>>12301319>There's zero reason to suffer through it anymoreoh yeah I'll suffer through a 3 hours tutorial instead
