>jag support>cd-i dvc supportit's really paying for itself
Oh boy, can't wait to play all those classics on the Atari Jaguar!
>>12302218is emulation for 3do, jaguar, cdi good and perfect?
>>123022233do software emulation needs some russian closed source emulator to run perfectly, and it's yet to get a MiSTer core if it ever does
>>12302223Thunder in Paradise seems to be playing just fine
>>12302220Only $499.99 (the cost of the plastic for the 3d printer of course) + $50 Etsy seller fee + paypal shipping with a slipped-in recurring payment!
>>12302218When did we get DVC support on the CD-i core? I've been checking pretty frequently
>>12302259Your fifty-fourth birthday, I believe. So a couple years back.
>>12302259check the discord, unstable core got support a couple of months ago
>>12302258qmtech aliexpress build is like aud$289 delivered
>>12302218Usb ports have been failing for me. Sometimes it just plain doesnt work for a while.Currently gathering dust since I am playing my backlog in switch 2.Still waiting for Taki to release the superstation.BTW, even if people recommend the dell 2007fbf, it isnt worth it. I got it at 20$ and it is shit, I get dizzy with that slow response time. Having almost no borders is cool though.
>>12302264ah I only use the updater script and don't do discord
>>12302258There are Chinese clones now for 200 if you want it with dual ram. https://retroremake.co/pages/store
>>12302218shitpost threads about this thing really died off after the price dropped in half
>>12302671Very true. I bought a chinese one sometime last year, didn't really use it, sold it for double what I paid, and then ended up buying another for $160 that I use regularly. I've ended up using it mainly for the PC/XT and ao486 cores. I wish the Macintosh core wasn't so shit.
>>12302258Um anon, the unofficial 3D printed devices from Etsy are only TWO hundred dollars.... By my metric? STEAL! Atari Jaguar here I come!
>>12302731didn't know people could 3D print ARM chipstechnology is amazing!
>>12302258Who the fuck buys electronics on etsy?
The work on NEC PC-FX core has begun.
>>12302991who wanted it tho?
>>12302996Virtual Boy fans. Both consoles use the same CPU.
WHEN THE FUCK IS TAKI UDONS SHIT COMING OUT
>>12302227The guy who made the SNES and Saturn cores is making a 3DO core right now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1KjFVwVkrg
>>12303002Ah fair enough, good to know thx anon
>>12302258>he doesn't know about the sub-$200 qmtech misters on aliexpress
>>123022273DO support never coming has become a bit of a meme with the mister community. Reason being the only person who would work on it is also working on several other cores and keeps focusing on issues and inaccuracies that keep getting discovered in those, mostly the Saturn core.>>12302458There should be scripts, or at least a setting, to download unstable cores instead of only stable ones. Though for some of them to have all the new fixes functional you need to update main to unstable too, but there is also a simple script to do that. Even if you don't want to update main 99% of the changes in the unstable cores will work without the updated main.>>12302996Do you have any idea how many random obscure cores of computers nobody has ever even heard of the mister already supports? At this point PC-FX support is more wanted than considered odd. Especially since currently there are very little options for any reasonable PC-FX emulation in software.>>12303176He knows, he's just been doing this "mister costs $600" thing for a long time, him and the person with the "* > mister" copypasta have been trolling mister threads for years.
>>12303371>Reason being the only person who would work on it is also working on several other cores and keeps focusing on issues and inaccuracies that keep getting discovered in those, mostly the Saturn core.He recently even redone the audio clock in SNES core based on real hardware measurements, because an infamously bad Japanese homebrew game kept crashing in emulators under timings long considered correct.
>>12303396Wasn't it found that said timings could differ between models of real hardware? Also IIRC wasn't said "infamous homebrew" just... Bad Apple?
>>12303410No, I meant Unholy Night: The Darkness Hunters, an overhyped fighting game.
I was playing mario kart 64 with friends and some levels did have slow down and looked messed up. Perfect emulation my ass
>>12303434The original game had massive slowdown at times in multiplayer mode
>>12303434retard moment
>>12302220There's like two good games, but they're really good
>>12302218I'm glad you enjoy your thing and all but how the fuck is it paying for itself? There are no paid options for those things you mentioned.
>>12303925Maybe his charges his normie friends for playing on his TV
>>12303925it means i don't have to buy or repair said machines at exorbitant prices, i can just have a nice way to play them reasonably accurately
>>12303925Not OP but having a MiSTer in 2026 is basically like having around 50 retro consoles, 60-70 retro computers, and hundreds of retro arcade cabinets all in working order while also modded to output in just about every analog video format as well as HDMI, with Everdrives or ODEs, and with bluetooth/usb controller mods as well. Considerably cheaper than fixing up and modding even a handful of consoles like that, or in some cases considerably cheaper than even one. Most of the stuff you would miss out on that works on real hardware is really obscure and generally expensive accessories that required the generally unused expansion ports of a system (You can't connect a real FDS or Satellaview or 64DD to the MiSTer for example), though many of the cores can run the games on those add-ons anyway. (Pretty much the only thing you can't run on the SNES core are two mahjong games, which won't work on the SD2SNES/FXPak either, in fact, there are games the SNES core can run that the SD2SNES can't.)Main issue I will admit for lack of accessory support would be for the computer cores, since it's not like it gives you all the external as well as internal ports a real computer would have had if you want to connect some weird retro hardware to it that isn't emulated on it.
I like using snac adapters. Having all retro systems consolidated into a compact setup and I can use the original controllers for nostalgia is my ideal at the moment. I just have a small crt setup in the living room and have put most of my retro clutter in storage.I play Playstation on it the most, but I’ve sampled just about every console it can run. Haven’t broken into the computers tho. I know theres some sort of easymode setup where you can just boot straight into games, but I think I want to learn a bit more about how the commodore or an atari 800 actually would run back in the day. Or I’ll just be lazy and play DKC again.
>>12303967So same as having a computer thenOr an RPiOr a chink handheld
>>12303989>computercan't output to my CRT easily>rpican't run some of the more accurate emulators that would be on par with mister accuracy>handheldeither craptastic accuracy or messy android implementation
>>12303925You can train at Street Fighter II on MiSTer as it runs at more accurate speed than MAME or Final Burn and win money at tournaments.
>>12303967>Not OP but having a MiSTer in 2026 is basically like having around 50 retro consoles, 60-70 retro computers, and hundreds of retro arcade cabinets all in working order while also modded to output in just about every analog video format as well as HDMI, with Everdrives or ODEs, and with bluetooth/usb controller mods as well. >>12303371>issues and inaccuracies that keep getting discovered in those, mostly the Saturn core.Like what? Are people emulating Saturn games and enjoying them?
>>12303989>So same as having a computer thenA computer does not give you native analog outputsOr native accessory supportOr zero added input latencyOr zero added output latency>>12304005See above, I would love to see you plug your NES zapper into your phone and have it work.
>>12302218how is it paying for itself if i'd never play those anyways and already own everything i'd want to play?
I want a mister really bad but i feel like i'd get overwhelmed with too many options because i'm stupid
>>12302218Bigpemu has great support and enhancement for the jaguar. Mister is nice though for all purposes.
>>12302218ugly deformed box is ugly where real consoles with flash carts are not
>>12307017I agree it's ugly but there are now more asthetic options
>>12303916>two good gamesTempest 2000 and what else? AvP?
>>12307109I'd say AvP personally
>>12307109>weirdo version of rayman 1>the only id-developed doom console port>super burnoutthe jag is more of a curiosity than anything. shit like fight for life where atari was more than happy to release an unfinished beta than pay the dev to actually finish it. you don't play jag because the games are good, but if they are that's a bonus
>>12307030Post one then
>>12302218>jagsparro?
>Good job, Mister. Emulating these worthless machines and all... I can see your firmware updates really pay for themselves!
so are the aliexpress versions good to go then?
>>12308617Why are you even here? Do you go to ballet forums and talk about how you hate ballet too?
>>12307440True
>>12307440They were shutting down and shovelware'd it, with supercross 3d. Shame it could have been good.
