Games do not age.
>>12303152That game looks about 25 years old.
>>12303152why is he so pissed though
>>12303152But people do...
>>12303152The kiddy shit that killed the Gamecube
>>12303152uhhh where's the nuclear bloom in the sky?
>>12303152Volumetric fog bros...
>>12303152you know the rules
>>12303152true and true-pilled
>>12303158>why is the blonde boy swinging a noose so pissed
>>12303152screeched the autist, stamping his feet, unable to understand simple social concepts.
>>12303152No, but every game is a snapshot of its era.>>12303158He can't find the grapple point.
>>12303152Love the grappling hook, even if it's a bit clunky. I wish Wind Waker had more outdoor environments you could explore and use items like the grappling hook and deku leaf in. I have a feeling the enemy AI wasn't built for open spaces, though. Can you ever jump from a grappling hook onto a ledge or a climbable wall? or do you have to land on solid ground?
>>12303152IF YOU BOYS ARE DONE KISSING I HAVE SOME ASS KICKING FOR YOU
>>12303152
>>12303187>muh social conceptspfft, whatever, fag
>>12303249>i cant understand the language that other people use when they talk>they must be fagscope however you want, we're all laughing at you, sperg, lmao.
>30fps>480i>Is not dated and agedlol
>>12303294>we
>>12303152Of course not. If they did, games still wouldn't be trying to rip off 30 year old shit.
>>12303303yes, we all laugh at autists.
>>12303308bro's one post in and already hallucinating, lmao
>>12303209Stealth mission anally raped that game. I think the second one is where I stopped playing the first and second time I tried to playthrough it.
>>12303152TRUKE
>>12303308>that picRetro video games?
>>12303152>THE SKY IS BLUE!
>>12303315Isn't there only one? I've been playing through it recently and I only recall the first visit to the Forsaken Fortress requiring stealth, and I personally enjoy that section. It's weird from a pacing perspective since you've just received the sword, but I don't think it's bad in itself. The only other time stealth is forced on you is maybe the sequence of sneaking back onto the pirate ship to acquire bombs, which I think only superficially uses stealth. If anything I wish stealth was a viable option in other parts of the game, or used deliberately elsewhere. The second visit to the Forsaken Fortress is clearly meant to show off the Master Sword, and there's no being tossed in jail as far as I can recall, so stealth doesn't have any advantages. I can imagine that really improving the stealth sequences would require a little more mechanically to make them worthwhile, like it being possible for Link to use enemy weapons more permanently, lose his sword, or use environmental hazards against enemies (e.g., chuck a pot at a bokoblin to knock him over then retrive his weapon, which I think is entirely possible in vanilla but isn't viable in the Forsaken Fortress). But I still think it'd be cool to see it used elsewhere, even with the mechanics as-is.Interestingly, a lot of that stealth sequence is adapted from part of the anime Future Boy Conan, including the searchlights, jail, rescuing a girl, and seagulls by the lit window. Even being brought to the island by pirates/sailors. Way more than that is used as inspiration in the rest of the game too.
>>12303152>Games do not age.
>>12303457D
>>12303152Yeah. Wind Waker is just as shit as it was when it came out.
>>12303152This just reminds me of how fucking long it takes to traverse that section and how not fun it is.
>>12303237you know the rules
>>12303152This is /vr/'s biggest cope.
>>12303457That was a method of DRM. Still working apparently, keeping zoomers out, kek.
>>12303152Correct...the games people think aged poorly were always shit, they just didn't realize it at the time.
>>12303604>quality is something intrinsic to discover, and not a judgement or evaluation
>>12303152shit game
>>12303672Then what are they judging?
>obviously games don't age, just the culture surrounding them doesWas Matthew right?
>>12303761Who?
>>12303158He has to enter a cutscene every time he uses his chain.
In the year 2026, send a game from 1990 back in time to 1900. Did it age? No! It's the exact same game since 1990, and it will be a marvel to the people of 1900.
>>12303152Okay. So here were my options: A, quickly duck sideways, dodge the shitpost, then take OP out with a spinning back-report; or B, take the shitpost in the reply box, then roll on the catalog and die.>clicks submitHmm! Shoulda gone with A!
>>12303862>tv hasnt been invented yet>cant plug anything you brought into an outlet>people giving a shit about some game and not the fact that you time traveledyikes.
>>12303885But it hasn't aged! You can send an old man back in time and he is still objectively aged.Ergo games don't age. It's just a metaphor to demonstrate a point!
>>12303162And unfortunately these days they grow more impatient as well.
>>12303767Matthewmatosis, fucking newfags
Games never age, people's brains just get fried and spoiled by overexposure. I guarantee everyone here would play the absolute shit out of a handful of Atari games if it were their only option.
>>12303761games are just products of people, saying they age is like saying books or movies age.they don't, ideas remain static, inspirational, and immortal. what the culture surrounding it does with this information from the past is up to them.>>12303939i don't watch retired youtubers, their videos are too aged
>>12303950i bet you fuck the absolute shit out of your hand since its your only option.
>>12303952quality changes because standards and values change. deal with it.
>>12303694"No, Littlefoot! If we pass this point, we'll be in the Mysterious Beyond!"Kino
>>12304037This isn't twitter. Nobody's going to like and retweet your shit. Leave your sick burns elsewhere.>>12304585Why are you a child?
>>12304040Not standards but misguided expectations and levels of player impatience.
>>12303939I don't watch stupid faggots with retarded faggot opinions.
>>12303457Obviously it's D, didn't you hear what happened to that woman who fooled with him?
That's what's great about video games, you get older every year but they always stay the same age.
>>12303152>new game comes out>innovates by being the first at what it does>extremely fun concept everybody loves it because they've never played anything like it before>over the years more games copy it and the concept becomes it's own genre>20 years later zoomers try playing the game for the first time while being used to all the improvements that has happened in the genre over the yearssome games you cannot enjoy unless you're aware of what the world looked like when it came out, and it's something you can only try to understand but never fully grasp unless you were there at the time.
>>12303152celshading tends to look good years later when realism isnt the goal for its presentation
>>12304657uh huh, keep coping and rationalizing.
>>12303152There are multiple aspects of games that make you think "Why did you think this shit was a good idea?" however. Usually in the form of awkward or overly-complex controls, such as old RTS games where you had to click move then click on the screen instead of just right-clicking on the screen.
>>12305301Not only that but people are definitely stupider now as well. This is undeniable.
>>12305121You're implying that there have been "improvements" after all those years. I can faithfully say, being a fan of the FPS genre, the genre went downhill the last 15 years and has become radioactive dogshit.
>>12305317>old RTS games where you had to click move then click on the screen instead of just right-clickingHow fucking ancient we talking? Not even Age of Empires 1 does that.
>>12305745even assuming the last 15 years have been stagnant, theres you cant genuinely argue that massive improvements werent made between 1995-2010.
>>12306045I mean, they became more complex, but that doesn't mean it's an improvement. If I had to choose between playing Doom and Call of Duty, I'd probably pick Doom.
>>12306089I've already played enough Doom so I'd pick Call of Duty which I've been having fun playing the console titles of.
>>12306089>became more complex, but that doesn't mean it's an improvementnot inherently, no, but we can see that it does play a part in many people's increased enjoyment and opinion of the games. however, yes i DO mean improvements as well. its very cute that you would prefer doom though, but it doesnt undo when people do pick and WHY they pick cod over doom.
>>12306117> but it doesnt undo when people do pick and WHY they pick cod over doom.Because of lowest common denominator appeal. Make games as dumb, simple, and front-loaded as possible. Same thing with Overwatch, Valorant, and Fortnite.
>>12306385oh damn, i didnt realize that you alone had the final say in what is actually quality or not. thats crazy.
>>12305749Knights & Merchants and I believe Warcraft.
>>12306462>even if the ratings are good, if I don't like it, then that means it's shit!Retard, then I guess Ocarina of Time is the best game ever, disproving your statement.
>>12305317>such as old RTS games where you had to click move then click on the screen instead of just right-clicking on the screen. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this and right clicking is not an improvement, but a difference. Games do not age.
>>12306117>but it doesnt undo when people do pick and WHY they pick cod over doomBecause they are retarded marketing driven normalfags. Fuck off with your condescending attitude you sewage chugging nigger. CoD is a garbage ass movie game series full of cinematic dogshit instead of gameplay where one type of fucking enemy makes up 90% of what you encounter.
>>12303152>OP 's premise is that Wind Waker always looked like shit so it looks precisely that way right nowstunning and brave
>>12303152Neither does celshading
>>12308043Looks like it used to be futuristic
>>12303152Try playing Warcraft 1 and 2 back to back and say that, if you're so great
