>go my whole life assuming this was an Iron Maiden tie-in game like KISS: Psycho CircusI just started playing it and it's pretty good but this game has nothing to do with Iron Maiden, the entire soundtrack is ambient safari music. I feel a little bamboozled
The title was a publisher's choice. Developers did not like it and referred to their game as Exhumed.
>p*wersl*veproblematic terms, please call the game democratically elected secondary
>>12306109Weaknessmaster goes hard as a title.
>>12306070>go my whole lifeThe whole 12 years?
>>12306070There is an Iron Maiden game though called Ed Hunter
>>12306218Is it any better than you'd expect for a tie-in gimmick thing?
Is Powerslave the new forced /vr/ meme?
>>12306460It's even worse. Most flash games are better than this.
>>12306074>Developers did not like it and referred to their game as Exhumed.they literally called the game engine Slavedriver Engine though.
>>12306074It was called Exhumed in Europe. I guess that didn't sound manly enough for burger land.
For me it's not Seireki 1999 Pharao no Fukkatsu
>>12306070Are you playing the BUILD version, the PS1 version or the Saturn version?
>>12306732whatever is on the Steam store as the exhumed versionI assume that's the Build one. Should I be emulating one of the console versions?
>>12306218does Carmageddon 2 count? iirc the whole soundtrack of that game is Iron Maiden
>>12306846Steam is a remake of the Saturn version.
>>12306859is it considered a good replication?
>>12306859The original DOS version is also on Steam
>>12306539Are you implying there is some kind of contradiction here...?
>>12306862It's a good middle ground between Saturn and PS1 but not purely either version. Much more Saturn than PS1. Make sure you use subtractive lighting.
>>12306070This is a great game. One of the few 3D multiplats that was better on Saturn too. Only complaint is that it ended too soon. I remember when I beat it not long ago, they would introduce new abilities towards the end of the game so there would be only a couple of levels where you needed to use them. They made up for it by placing a bunch of secrets around the previous levels that you had to backtrack to with the new abilities, but still.
>>12307514Go for the dolls, should let you get your time out of the game. I wish there was just one more level more focused on slaughter to wrap things up.
>>12306859I understood that it is mix of ps1 and saturn version.Kind of weird mix of two different version remastered and ported on new engine.Youtube has a good document on original developer. They apparently had well working quake ps1 port but they didn't get anyone to release it
>>12306875>engine must have same name as gameI assume something like this
>>12306070I love this cover art. It's stylized and painterly, like old NES covers, but is actually very accurate to what's in the game.
>>12308639>everything the cover is 100% accurate to the game>except the shotgun>not even all the beta versions have ANY trace of the shotgun
>>12308714well the protag just keeps it slung duh
This is one of the few games in my life where I couldn't overcome a boss and had to stop playing because of it. It was the huge spider like boss somewhere late in the game.
>>12306070Everyone assumed it was based on the Iron Maiden song as well, turns out it was just a marketing stunt. What's surprising is IM didn't care about the name and wasn't blocking it from being re-released all these years, it was just the IP rights being up in the air because one of the companies went defunct in the 2000s and the other one got swallowed up by Rockstar games.
>>12310928It's funny because then their lawyers forced the developers of Ion Maiden to change the name to Ion Fury
>>12306070I almost rage quit the game at the section where you had to do multiple long jumps, thankfully you then got the ability to levitate
>>12312050this one is crazy to me because the band is not the origin of the term "iron maiden", by what right could they force them to change their name?
>>123124543d Realms being assholes as always and blaming others for incompetenceFriedrich being the biggest retard alongside Broussard.
>>12312454It's corporate bullying. Even if the C&D has no ground, even if they know they'd lose if it came to court, the very threat they send is enough to get them what they want because one side you have a team of lawyers paid to do this and on the other small companies who can't afford the time and effort for this. Fighting the threat could take 2-3 years and Iron Maiden lawyers would probably have demanded the courts that the game couldn't release until the matter is settled.
