Donkey Kong Country (1995)>>12290443Alright, it's time for another blast from the past, as we take another look at the DKC novellas!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjRw9X2Hxro
Remember to comment along - book clubs thrive on discussion, after all!
And that's where we'll end it for today. Will DK and his team escape the Kremlings? Will they rescue Funky? Why was Squawks drawn like that? Seriously, does the artist even know how beaks work?To find out the answers to (most of) these questions, join me tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion of Donkey Kong Country: Rumble in the Jungle!
I didn't think the author would use the actual canon story of Donkey Kong Land, but I kind of hoped a little that he might. But that would really not mesh with the tone of the previous book so I can understand why he went for something original.Land's plot in the manual is that Cranky gets so fed up with the ego DK and Diddy got over their first adventure in DKC that he grumbles they only could do it because it was all the fancy graphics and sounds that let them. He says they could never do it on an 8-bit console, to which DK goes COULD TOO. So Cranky literally calls up K Rool to steal the bananas again and that's the plot of Donkey Kong Land.
>>12306774Oh yeah, they did recycle the cover art for DKL 1 for this book... if I had to guess, either Nintendo didn't want too much DKL lore in there or Teitelbaum figured that using the plot of a game that's literally "do the first one again" might be a bit derivative.
Really nice drawings in these books. Also thanks OP.I'll read through this one later.Don't be discouraged by the low activity in these threads, that's inherent because the actually require people to READ a short story to know what is actually going on, and ain't nobody got time fo dat! Some even stop reading if your post is too long.
Have you looked at the Doom novels? The second two are insane
