>>12307294I think it is because the games had more time/opportunity to capture a fanbase since PS1 games can be played on PS2 and PS3. I cannot really speak on their behalf, but I too prefer the original Playstation more than subsequent iterations, possibly due to less time spent with the latter consoles. The original Playstation is cleanly in my top 10 non-portable/PC gaming consoles, while the PS2, 3, and 4 are in the top 15. So perhaps it is time being a factor for games that I enjoyed playing. Maybe if I spent more time with more recent games I may elevate them as well, but they have an uphill battle with my fond memories playing the older games.
