Who else loved Johnny Castaway?
Man, that thing was cool. I remember looking at my dad's computer every now and then just to check out what that island guy is up to now.Is there any way to make it run as an actual screensaver on modern systems?
>>12307493I loved this shit. I watched him finally build his raft and get off the island a couple of times. He ends right back up on it though.
>>12307493I am familiar with it through that youtube video. What an esoteric artform!arguably not a videogame but I won't tell
>>12308201Just think of it like an idle clicker but if you click, you lose.
This is a topic worth looking into, scrubbers.
>>12308192>I watched him finally build his raft and get off the islandWait, he actually does? Until today, I thought my brother was bullshitting me back then when he told me he has seen that lol.
>>12309678Yeah, I've seen him build a raft and escape at least twice. He slowly works on the raft over along period and eventually completes it. I think he MAY get off the island some other ways too. I feel like I saw a ship pick him up once, but I think I may be hallucinating that
>>12308176Yeah I was able to make it work on Windows 7 or 10 can't remember which. This was a few years ago. You basically have to rig DosBOX to run similarly to a screensaver
Why do animated screensavers not exist anymore?
>>12309918Even on screens susceptible to screen burn, we don't really need them when your computer can just put the screen on standby
>>12309918Modern screens dont need saving
>>12309918Supposedly because modern screens aren't affected by burn in as easily but that begs the question... what about image retention? Yeah the knuckle heads forgot about that I don't want the soulesss modern microshart icons stuck on my screen for like 5 minutes if I decide to view a gray image on fullscreen at max brightness for whatever reason.
