the first time i ever saw this he mentioned suikoden, which was such a crazy pull considering i never heard anyone talk about that game. i think it was the first rpg my brother bought for the system. we also had vandal hearts but i dont remember him mentioning that. its possible there wasnt a save for it on the card at the time or maybe he only mentions one game. either way that was really incredible at the time. its also funny to think that the green HIDEO in the corner of the screen is now probably lost on the younger generation since TVs dont do that quirk anymore that used to be ubiquitious

It occurred to me later that the fact that the game tells you what to do after a few minutes suggests it wasn't really supposed to be a puzzle.It's another 4th wall break like getting Meryl's codec frequency off the back of the CD case. And I know everyone's jaded and cynical and unimpressed now but that shit was not something anyone expected in 1998.
