This game did not age poorly
because it was already shit on release day

I agree. I liked the first Sonic Adventure. It was the game I got with my Dreamcast at launch and I played a ton of it. The sequel was a massive letdown. The Sonic/Shadow levels were still fun, but being forced to play the dumb hide and seek and mech levels saw me rebound off it at record speed. I didn't even finish it, despite there being fuck all else to play on the Dreamcast in mid-2001.

I like the mech levels, they're like a mix of Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon.
Mad Space is also kino to play baked

Wasn't SA also guilty of not having enough sonic stages?
>>
>hyperbolic video game opinion that doesn't allow for any argument other than "It'S sHiT!!!!11111oneoneone"
>every game is fuckin SHIT bro, every single one!!!!!!!
>>
>>12308451
Based and correct opinion. Sonic fans are the most delusional group of people across all of gaming.
>>
>>12308889
What's more important is that you weren't forced into playing any of the other characters in the first game. You could just play through Sonic's story. You're forced to engage with all the other bullshit in SA2. The fun levels are gated behind the tedious garbage ones.

Yes, every single game named Sonic Adventure 2 is shit. Problem?
>>
>>12308931
Shooting and treasure hunting are fun, if you only want to play Sonic there's plenty of fun to be had with the original series. Gamma's story in SA1 was generally liked and not controversial in any way while having the same gameplay as Tails and Robotnik in SA2. What changed?
>>
>>12308928
That would be nintendo fanboys, more specifically the miserable souls that were unfortunate enough to grow up with an N64. The amount of delusion and denial is unbelievable.
>>
>>12308949
It’s not the same gameplay at all. Gamma’s stages are quick and arcadey designed for time attacking, SA2’s mech stages are slow with retarded tank controls and no time limit so the game intentionally wastes your time as much as possible.
>>
>>12308965
That’s fair. IDK what it is with millennials and the N64. I mean the SNES is RIGHT THERE
>>12308971
Also correct. The Gamma stages in SA1 are actually kind of fun.
>>
>>12308451
Something about Sonic felt off in this game, he reacted way quicker in the first game.

Sonic Adenture, Zelda OoT and MM, Super Mario 64 are all good, you guys are just retarded

>Sonic Adenture

I don't actually believe that anyone has ever just played Sonic's stages in SA1 and then just put the game down there. This scenario exists purely in your mentally ill head.
>>

Nah its peak
>>

I don't get why they made the mechs control like they did when they had it perfect with Gamma. My main issue is that while holding your laser your mech just barely turns and keeps your full forward momentum. You can get used to it and work around it by spamming jump but it still sucks.
Funny enough, there's one stage unaffected by this issue because it uses a different terrain type not used anywhere else: Eggman's Weapons Bed. THAT is what mech controls should have been like everywhere.

Why does /vr/ delete all my overtly negative threads?
