i beat it recently and really loved it, i want more but there doesnt seem to be a big system shock modding scene, what are some other games like it?
System Shock 2
This blows the fuck out of Doom and I will die on this hill
>>12310665no
>>12309405I feel like the Ultima Underworld games apply to this question. I just wish I could play all these games on my OLED since I don't have a CRT but DOSBox has crazy screen tearing and I've never been able to fix it.
>>12311175It's a great game but the combat is just awful like many "imsims". Dark Messiah was the first one with truly fun combat.
>>12310665mega fag response incoming but i genuinely found it too scary, i can clearly tell that it has way more to it then the original but i cant handle just hearing those footsteps while the many say shit>>12311192iv thought about it, system shock at its core is mainly just a scifi dungeon crawler so maybe that game could fill that fix, same devs too>>12311214i really enjoyed the combat, desu i did play the enhanced edition (not the remake) and it made the combat really enjoyable while still having mostly similar controls
>>12309405Play the remake now>>12311175It's a completely different kind of game
>>12309405Man I sure do love games where its 90% backtracking. I fucking love backtracking!!!!
>>12311686Backtracking is only tolerable if you have an automap. I'm glad shooters got linear once they abandoned the auto map.
Metroid Prime and Deus Ex
>>12311678This anon is right and you need to play the remake, high quality shit.
>>12311678>>12312569the ceo of the company thinks I should be shot in the head, so I will not play anything by Nightdive studio
>>12312623Pure snowflake mentality. But you're right not to play it because it's soulless. The hype around it baffles me.
>>12312631Why should I give any of my time and energy towards someones product, if that someone believes I should be shot in the head? I fail to see the kind of gymnastics you can jump through to cope with the fact that the people making your product for your consumption hate you and want you dead.
>>12312631>someone shows support for a political candidate shot>"YOU DESERVE TO DIE WITH HIM" meanwhile they delist Blood and re-release it for 30$ fucking scumbags
>>12312631>>12312656I will continue to remind people here that Nightdive doesn't actually do anything. They are IP whores, they buy old forgotten IPs then they take the work the community has done with sourceports and whatnot (portable release in the case of SS1) then ask you to pay for it. The original release of SS1EE before the Kex engine port was quite literally the portable release being sold to you, it was identical with the same readme and all. They did the same with Powerslave and Turok as well. I can't prove the other games they've released but I suspect it's the same story for all of them. They are literally scamming people and then getting praised for it.About the only benefit you can say they do is.put these games on modern consoles but I'll let you be the judge of that. Also they scammed me with SS2EE, I was promised a copy for pre-ordering the remake and never was sent a key or got a reply when I emailed them about it. At least they somehow fixed the coop.
>>12312638>>12312656based nightdive, buying two copies because zogbots do deserve to get shot in the head
>>12312694Eh, I'll just buy it on sale. For $13 I do'nt need to get political
>>12312569>>12312760 >>12313091>post off handed comment>return to thread>seetheMmmmmyesssssssss
>>12312694I don't know why no one complained about those terrible AI upscaled cutscenes in Dark Forces Remaster. It looked awful and yet some people even praised the new cutscenes.
