This is a thread for games that are stuck on a console with no ports anywhere else. Ideally they should be good games. Here's a good one: Return Fire Maps O' Death.Return Fire is actually a great game but be warned that it does get difficult on the later stages. It was originally released for the 3DO in 1995 and was ported to the PlayStation and Windows in 1996. However the expansion pack Maps O' Death was only ever released for the 3DO. It has 100+ levels that can only be experienced on this console. Genuinely one of the few reasons to actually use your 3DO emulator. Most use 3DO emulators to experience just how badly some of the games have aged, but this is a real good game that you will enjoy, if you like the genre. Some things I found interesting about the game:It was developed by a company called Silent Software. A fitting name, seeing as they put very little time or money into the songs and sound for this game and chose to invest in other areas. This allowed them to polish graphics, gameplay, etc. at the expense of sound AND YET it actually makes the game even better in some sense (and memorable). They use solely public domain music that you probably have heard of but never knew the name of. Classical music like Flight of the Bumblebees, Handel's Hallelujah and Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King just to name a few. When you finish a level a black and white video of Lou Gehrig plays saying "Today, I consider myself, the luckies man on the face of the Earth". There's other videos too, but that one is very memorable.
Obligatory.
>>12310051Aren't Maps O Death levels included in the PS1 port?
>>12310051This game never gets much attention. Most people don't know about jt. For those that do, I think many incorrectly assume that it's a shitty port of the SNES game. Most others probably read a review or two online and saw the one or two people who reviewed it weren't too fond of it. Anyone still on the fence probably looked up Mega Man's sprite and walk animation and rightly assumed the game is garbage. But if you can get past the shitty MM sprite, it's actually quite a good game. There's some solid platforming here that's at least on par with some of the Gameboy games. Mega Man fans would like this game. I really enjoyed it.
On the topic of Wonderswan, this puzzle platformer is by far my favorite Klonoa game. It's entirely approachable even to non-Japanese. It's intuitive to learn. Starts off very easy, but the challenges ramp up towards the end of the game. There are some head scratchers, and the bonus final platforming world is tough. The first world is the worst world and if you can get through that, the game improves a lot.
>>12310051Shit you might be right. There isn't much information online about this game. The only way to verify this might be to play and beat them both or something.
