So when do i get my first gun? There was a shootout at the start but I didn't even get to do anything besides talk to one of the guys shooting.

After the hotel escape you eventually get a handgun and the game kinda becomes a horror-themed shooter from then onwards.

I don't remember too much about this except the escape section and the final areas being fun.

I played it recently and enjoyed the atmosphere. The combat was good too for the most part, but I wish the walking speed wasn't so slow. And that there was a bit more to do when investigating crime scenes to have to figure things out. It reminded me a lot of the movie Se7en.
