Togoslop

Whoever made that ride forgot to set the music to War Style. Don't worry, I made sure to do it for you.
>>
Year 10 of asking for the auto-complete feature from RCT3.
>>
I love this game!
>>
>>12316874
just play the fucking game dude
>>
>>12318456
I like it because it helps me fill in the blanks if I don't quite see a way for me to finish the ride and then I can adjust it from there after getting an idea. It's a neat tool even if the initial design looks like shit.
>>
>>12318512
>fill in the blanks if I don't quite see a way for me to finish the ride
For me, this is where the magic happens and I build ridiculous spaghetti just to finish the damn thing.
>>
>>12318862
I think I might be better off building the ending of my ride first so I can think about how I want to get to that point.
>>
man, this is the slowest thread we've had all year bump
>>
>>12320763
I was thinking the same
>>
>>12320763
like a fully-loaded miniature railroad train struggling to climb a hill
>>
What's the plan for the weekend? Do we continue last week's map?
>>
Does it bother anyone else when people design water rides like roller coasters with hills and fast turns? Maybe it's just me but some people make some fucking painful looking log flumes and having any speed when you go up a roller lift always looks goofy. You're meant to do that kind of design with a dinghy slide.
>>
>>12321587
But my super extreme splash boats.
>>
>>12321238
that would be my vote
>>12321587
It's because I'm bad at designing water rides, however I do try to do the long runs after a drop when I can to make it more realistic.
>>
>>12321587
It does bother me, but I try not to say anything because the game rewards fast water rides. I can't begrudge someone for trying to game the system and get a higher score.
>>

bunny hills and fast turns on splash boats make me very angry and I quickly turn off my computer whenever I see them.

I, too, have this type of amusement ride autism, I must adhere to realism
>>
>>12322157
Well now I know what to build this weekend.

>>
>>12321587
>having any speed when you go up a roller lift always looks goofy
those rides should just have upwards slopes added to them already to make it look better. It's not like not having them stops people from using the lift hills in the exact same way anyway.

The south side railroad is complete. Please don't connect the isolated path loops until we actually build out there. They won't trap guests because the ride is free.

I think the level is too big in retrospect, i thought the unbuildable canyon parts would thin it out but its still way too massive. Anyway, cool to see you playing a level i made. I hope you enjoyed it

I noticed that you used scenery pieces for the void texture instead of using void ground texture, what was the reason for that?

I don't think this existed at the time or atleast i was unaware of it. That would've been a lot nicer. Placing all the tiles was annoying as hell

>>12328110
Most of the maps i've made, i used World Machine which is an old terrain generation program. I think OpenRCT has improved generating a map from a heightmap a lot but it's still a huge trainwreck when you import it and you need to do a bunch of fixing up. Here is what it looks like in World Machine.

The end result is a pretty good approximation of that canyon. It's a beautiful landscape and a lot of fun to build on.
>>
>>12329154
have you done any other parks like this?
>>
>>12330686
I made a lot, i'm not sure what i made and how much of it ended up in the /v/ pack. Most of my levels have alliterations for names.

Rampaging River
Crashing Cliffs
Monumental Mine
Garrosh Gulch
Backyard Bastards
Gorgeous Glacier
Craven Cavern
Bumblier Beach
Shifting Sands
Mars Mayhem

These are levels i made, i thought there was more but maybe they're lost to the ether. There's also a desert mesa map that was used for a collab thing but i don't know where that is or what its called
>>
>>12331551
oh I remember some of these! I actually wanted to do something similar to your Bumblier Beach idea with Pleasure Island and gave up when I couldn't get it looking right.
>>
>>12329154
I remember seeing you post this back when this map was new (or at least first shared here) and wanting to do similar with World Machine before giving up.
>>
>>12331551
>Backyard Bastards
pray tell, what is that one about?
>>
>>12332093
I think other people have beaten it but its kind of glitchy. You start in a florida swamp where your uncle has built (incomplete) homemade coasters. You have to complete the coasters with an excitement rating of x to win BUT all the coasters are hacked, there's a powered launch giga coaster and a reverse launch woody etc
>>
for me it's pickle park

>>
>>12335935
then who made togoslop last weekend?

>>
>>12332606
That actually sounds like a silly fun idea. Probably the most interesting thing you could do with that "complete the coasters" scenario type.
>>
>>12335935
it's ok dude we had it covered

what map tonight? I was looking at maps and thought Asia - Gobi Desert from Geographical Glee in the mediafire download could be fun. That being said it doesn't have any water unless you put it in yourself.

The $10 tier is insane, $6 for just RCT1 and RCT2 and $10 to add Classic and 3. I'm going to pretend World doesn't exist.
>>
>>12339756
You can already get RCT 3 for dirt cheap, so I think that $10 bundle is just Atari using nostalgia to ship units of their dog shit World game again. It's a Trojan horse.

Why even bother including Classic?

Suspended looping coasters are kind of weird to make in RCT because the real-life varieties have so many quirks to them that just don't translate well to RCT's building system. I think I did well with this one, though. My self-imposed limit here was to avoid airtime hills and keep it as compact as reasonably possible.
>>
>>12340825
I like how it turned out. It's compact, but it doesn't feel stiff or like you boxed it in.
