>have owned radiant silvergun for years>beat it once years ago but never played for score>decide to actually play it again and learn the game proper>I keep sucking, decide to check out some japanese superplayer, not to copymonkey but to just glance at how good players engage>you can actually use the blade weapon in all directions if you hold the R button and move around, causing tons of damage and also serving as a shield at the same timeI had no idea, this deepens the gameplay a lot.Treasure, I kneel.
I don't know why but I got a boner watching that little hoe.
>>12313809>Beat it before>No clue how sword worksNope, hehe. You didn't 1CC it. Sorry if that offends you.
>>12313889I meant beating the Saturn mode which has limited continues
>>12313890Doesn’t count because you keep your levels after restarting which eventually makes it trivially easy.
>>12313961Good point, but well I mean I just got to see the end of the game. Even with the leveling system it felt challenging. I also remember reading people saying Saturn mode is a lot harder to play for score than arcade, why is that?
>>12314501You play all 6 levels plus additional bosses in the story mode, as opposed to "3" in arcade mode, plus, chaining gives you less exp in story mode to compensate for having more stages. So for a straight 1cc it's harder.Glad you've found yourself coming back to the game. I come back to it from time to time to play again and see if I can get better, having 1cc'd a few times now (just Arcade mode). You learn other tricks, like how rapidly mashing C does more damage, basically, than just holding the spread weapon, and how insanely powerful the lock on lasers are when properly leveled.
>>12313809These are the retards complaining about replays
>>12314574It has to be bait, there's no way you don't notice that naturally in like 5 minutes of gameplay
>defeat the Stone-Like>it says NOPE and kills everythingMade it much more satisfying when you finally kill it in Ikaruga.
>>12313809pic name?
>>12315616Sorry lil bro, she's taken

>>12314519I found that the highest DPS is to get up close to an enemy, mash C 3 times and then hold A until the C shots disappear, then mash C again and repeat in a rhythm. If you're doing it right then the C and A shots combined are going to look like a cock'nballs. This absolutely shreds some bosses. Also don't forget RSG has diagonal movement compensation, so you can go to the bottom of the screen and hold down in order to get slower lateral movement. This is very useful in some micrododging situations like the final boss for example.
>>12313809God Trashure's artist is so fucking fugly
>>12313809Is that girl from Vay? I'm thinking of starting my playthrough of that but I just finished Lunar I and idk I feel a bit worn out of jarpigs
>the "trashure" spammer is already here
>>12315959>I've entered a thread about a thing I don't like AHHHHHHHHHHH I'M SO ANGRY
>>12313809Never played Radiant Silvergun, but I love how Marina this looks. I really should play the rest of Treasure's catalog.
>>12316171You should probably play Treasure's catalog in order of release. They had a reputation for actively avoiding "direct" sequels, but in reality, their games constantly remixed and recontextualized mechanics from their previous works. There are also lots of recurring characters and bosses, for example Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga have the same antagonist even though everything else is different. The amount of callbacks in Treasure games will have you like pic related if you pay too much attention to them.
How does the ranking works in this game?Does it only register it if it's 1cc or something?I've played it on Saturn a bunch of time, obviously not going for score (though I do try, it's just too much for me), I just do survival but I still get like over 2 million points and even then it never asks me for my initials to register for the rank, and I see the rank list has scores of less than 1 million, so how does it work? It's not something I need, since again I don't play for score, but it seems strange
>>12316869Samefag here, what I mean is I never see pic related, and notice how in this screenshot it's only 240k points. How could it be that even making over 2 million points I don't get this screen ever? All of the scores are blank and nameless, like my console doesn't register my plays idk.It does track max chains, hours played and dogs (wtf is that dog feedee thing? I have 2) but no initials score rank whatsoever
>>12313889He said he beat it, not that he 1CC'd it. You added that for no reason other than to be a disingenuous troll.
>>12313889>i didn't readingcomprehension itSorry if that embarrasses you.
>>12316958>>12317161>Beating a shmupLmaoThe term we use is cleared or 1CC.Beating is ambiguous for outsiders, and just means credit feeding in which case we say we credit fed the game, or simply say we "played" the game, since nothing was actually attained.
>>12317343Beating is a broad term for reaching the end of the game. It's your own fault for taking a nonspecific term and inferring something so much more specific for no reason. You could have just asked for clarification, but instead you made a stupid assumption and made a fool of yourself.
>>12316869>>12316919Any help with this? Anyone knows?

>>12313809AAAAAH UGLY GIRL!!!
>>12317551Good, more for me
>>12316019Waiting his usual SoA fellatio thread again
>>12316869You can't submit your score if you use a continue. This is even if your pre-continue score would have ranked, once you continue that score becomes voided. If you're playing for score then you can't use continues, ever. Also, are we posting high scores now? 5th place is my best score on the Stage 2 route and everything above it is Stage 4 despite me being considerably worse at that route lol. I wish the routes would be counted separately but oh well.My game timer is also far from accurate because I've spent a shitload of time practicing with save states.
>>12317554Judging by your familiarity, you're mr. gummy
>>12317790I see, are other shmups like this also? Or is it a treasure thing?
>>12318198Shut up.
Splinter living sucks.
>>12318575Not that anon, but a number of shmups, or many a console port I've played, don't register a score after a continue. Some are nice enough to save the highest score you reached before continuing.
>>12313809This game's incredible. Ultra-difficult though. Even with rewind, I got a game over!
