That's enough for today - I'll have more OPM UK for you kids on Monday.
>>12322396This render image is superb, I love SoulBlade, kudos anon.
>>12322287first news I get of this game existence in 30 years.
Pandemonium used to be such a big deal but it's almost completely forgotten now. I still believe it had a huge influence on the genre, the kind of level design with all the rotation, 3D effects and multipath that it did would become standard for the genre, the way Klonoa or the Goemon N64 game do level design is exactly like Pandemonium (and unlike something like Bug or Crash).
Come to think of it, even Nights is basically "Pandemonium but we flying now".
>>12323242... I want to say you're wrong, but damned if I can say how or why.
>>12322181it's good to see the real proto resident evil 2.
>>12322330is this the lowest score in OPSMUK?
>>12325386Certainly the lowest so far - don't worry, there'll be plenty of 1/10 games on the horizon...
>>12322394This is what I'm talking about baby
>>12322149I like these threads and I wish I could be here to go through every single page of every single issue with lots of anons, but it's too much and I don't have the time. The best way to do something like this is probably a video series. Like have a buncha youtubers go through it all. That would be a great series. It's the reasonable way of revisiting this stuff. Page by page like this, it's too much and not enough time.
>>12326184It's okay to do things on your own time, too.
Okay, gonna try something different...See, I've noticed that these threads last a lot longer than I expected, hanging around on the catalog for days. So, from today I'm going to post two issues to a thread until the page count for each issue goes above 150 pages (which won't be until late '99)https://youtu.be/EIQ7rxAZjPc?si=mnaAzY62t1_OYlp5&t=09
That's enough for today - I'll have a new thread for you kids tomorrow.
>>12327513That's the first time I hear about a potential PSX port of Shadow Warrior. Probably got cancelled due to the poor reception of the PC version? Besides if we go by Total Metldown standards, SW would run even worse.
>>12327479interesting from 1997 issues onwards it gets more ADS pages, but still less ADS pages that it europe mainland counterparts.
>>12327525>that ffvii datathey got some stuff mixed.
If the anon who uploaded those scans to gofile is still here, can I get a reup of issue 17?
>>12327582ISS DELUXE and fifa 97 in the same issue, nice, good to see pseudo 3d iss deluxe got more love
My favourite SHMUP is Disruptor and my favourite Beat'em up is Tobal
seeing this issue and the last ones, I get the impression most people forgot about the 1994-1997 games on psx, people tend to parroting about late 1997 onwars, but I think 1994-1997 are the most underrated and interesting years for psx games. You rarely see any of these games talked about outside the big cows.
>>12330381A lot of it's down to the fact that nobody quite figured out 3D gaming, so the bold experiments get lost in the shuffle
>>12330381We were still obsessed with SNES in 1996.It also seemed like a lot of eye catching early PSX games were multiplatform/PC ports, too. Lots of cool stuff to discover on PSX, for sure, though.
