>>12323175It was the best time in gaming ever. I don’t think I’m just nostalgiafagging here either.
the year is 1998. taking a break from Mario 64, I look on the TV and theres the president saying "I did not have sexual relations with that wo-man" what did that mean? I get on our windows 95 computer and somehow come across an image of a big titty stripper lady in a bright green bikini standing next to, and holding a president-impersonator's wiener through his suit pants (he was otherwise fully dressed)later that year Pokemania with the original games started in my neighborhood and school and my parents got AOL so I was stuck in the "kids zone". I got Goldeneye for an Easter gift that year which was my first first person shooter game, and Zelda 64 2 weeks before Christmas that year.
>>12323264you are spot on. I don't remember as much his first term but I do remember his 2nd term (jan 97-jan 01, then we got DUBYA) and that was a lot of the games I loved either as a kid or still do as an adult. Zelda 64 (both), Pokemon Red/Blue/Gold/Silver, Goldeneye, Final Fantasy 7, Resident Evil 2 & 3. PRIMO SHIT. OG Smash but I didn't really like that until I was a teenager playing with friends. Parasite Eve too but that was too complex for me as a kid but one of my favorites as an adult.

>>12323175When it started gaming was mostly for children on a SNES/Gameboy or NES. It had a creamy middle for the houng adult audience with the genesis/PSX/N64 and end with online gaming on tbd dreamcast and ps2 launch titles. No president will ever preside over such a marked progression in gaming, and no other generation will grow up side by side with the technology like kids born in the early to mid 80s did. The 16 years of bush and Obama only see real progression in the monetization of gaming, Clinton presided over a 2d to 3d transition, punctuated by 2 generations experimenting with 2d/3d (3rd/5th) and 2 generations refining 2d/3d. In 92 I would have been playing GI Joe the Atlantis factor on NES, in 2000 I was playing command and conquer ra2 online through dial up. Wish zoomies had better things to look forward than the death of movies with AI and the further destruction of AAA gaming through monetization.
>>12323175It depends on what the meaning of the phrase "what was it like" is.
>It feels just like jumping into the movie toy story!
