Post examples of broken but legit units/skills/weapons/etc that destroy any challenge from their game but are still completely legit or even encouraged to use.
Remake the thread without pokeslop and I’ll consider replying
>>12340198'nuff said.
>>12340239ehh...but you just replied now. Someone isn't very smart.
>>12340198>press HP Grass>dieswow, so broken
>>12340239seethe
>>12340198>pokemoni have a hard time believing you've beaten any game
Pause buffering.
>>12340275Literally one one fight in the whole game wirha threatening grass type (rival 2)
>>12340198I used the fire one when I played this game. I didn't even level it up to the final evolution, I just stopped using it. I used a combination of Gyrados Skarmory, Manectric and Groudon instead.
>>12340198>Put 4 HMs on Swampass.>It still sweeps most battles.>It even wrecks Beauty contests with the Surf + Dive combo.2SWOLE2CONTROL
The warp zones in the Mario games are the de facto examples
>>12340350Not that the game isn't easy enought to be a breeze regardless of the starter choice.
>>12341191Sceptile sucks
starters are always easy mode.
>>12340198Homing shot types in any shmup game
>>12341447Not gonna lie, I doubt I would have beat Zero Wing without the homing shot.
>>12341496That would have been my pick, it's the most overpowered weapon in the entire Megaman series
>>12340350Rival 2 is only a problem if you're a speedtranny
>>12340198>move doesn't affect shedinja.you can abuse him on some gyms and there is nothing your opponent can do.of course he is weak to poison/burning and weather/hazard damage, but he is unstoppable more often than not during the story.
>>12342280Shedinja is probably my absolute favorite pokemon to use in any game I can get it in. It's a lot of fun having a team member that can go from utterly useless to completely invincible at the flip and back of a switch, I can't think of any other game with a character like that.
>>12342280Really? I think Shedninja has some pretty unfavorable match ups at all times during the story
Pokemon games are incredibly easy unless you were a literal 10 year old playing them for the first time. Yeah playing Pokemon Red or Yellow with Charmander or Pikachu sucks at first but ultimately it's just grinding for a while and getting a Butterfree.
>>12340198i normally swap out my start once i catch pokemon i like
>>12340239fpbpThis thread has already devolved into pokemon shit. Why does /vp/ keep raiding /vr/ like this and why don't they get banned for off-topic?
>>12343374Jannies don't care about your personal interpretation of board rules. You trying to derail any thread about pokemon on /v/ and /vr/ is the only off-topic thing going on here.
>>12343469Go back to your containment board.
>>12343498He does it for free!!!
Bloody Armor in SO2Does Vegh post here?
>>12340262Multiple attacks beats it cold.
>>12343327It does, many teams have moves and AI specifically to counter Shedinja
>>12343374>This thread has already devolved into pokemon shit.thats literally how every "ill start" thread goes. 90% of the posters are interested in discussing the OP example, not the question. This is not specific to pokemon.
>>12340198I don't care if anyone wants to beat the game with one of the lesser designed starters. The completion is valid nonetheless.
>>12343374So the multiple sonic threads, multiple Zelda threads and multiple Mega Man threads we have on the board right fucking now are okay, but you shit yourself over a Pokemon thread?
>>12343310You should play Pokemon Infinity, it has a ghost/water type skeleton fish with wonder guard that is extremely fun to use because it is fast with high attack, and it actually has some hp unlike shedinja so sandstorm/hail doesn't fuck it.
>>12340198g for life
>>12340198Holy Water in Castlevania 1 and Castlevania 3. With Castlevania 1 in particular, playing without Holy Water is like playing an entirely different game.
>>12340412If you used any evolved forms you didn't beat the game
you didn't beat this (already easy) game
>>12340262
>>12344671There are no Zelda or Mega Man containment boards, but there IS a Pokemon containment board.
>>12344528Gem Box + Economizer + Quick lets you cast Ultima five times, and everyone can learn it.
>>12340198>shits out absurd damage naked
>>12344842>>12344891SNES and PSX FFs had a lot of very powerful options, but even the NES games let you break the game easily. Protect in FFIII for example stacks, so you can just keep casting it until even the final boss only does 1 damage. Unlike something like Ultima, you don't even need to go out of your way finding the spell.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7McZsR14qI
I don't think it comes standard, but his Stray Cat Rage can sometimes do 4x physical damage. It can kill I think nearly everything but Atma Weapon in a single activation in WoB.And once you can get Rages for him in WoR, Rafflesia does an incurable Charm effect on everything in the game, including Kefka (maybe fixed on ports and remasters, but I've only played the OG)
>>12345047The Stray Cat Rage is very powerful just by itself, but with the Tempest + Offering, it's a candidate for the most broken shit in the game. This did get patched in versions after the original (though in the PS1 version, they forgot to account for Gogo). The Rafflesia Rage, however, did not, and can be used to cheese the game all the way up to the PR version AFAIK.
>>12344585Based
>>12344961I would say almost, if not all of Square games had some game-breaking mechanics, intentional or not. My favorite is barehanded characters stacking loads of damage (FFIII) or getting overpowered abilities (DSC in SaGa Frontier).>>12340198For me is the humble Graveler, aka, "Rape Everything with Rollout and Leave".
>>12340198
>>12340198I play video games for fun, so I don't ever consider myself having beaten the game regardless of whether I use save states or whatever.
>>12340198>skips the entire levelnothing personnel
>>12340198Karate Kid (NES) can only load 2 enemies on screen at once, so if you get 2 of them behind you, you can just walk through the levels with no enemies in your way, it's especially easy to do, and helpful, in the last level.
>>12346206That's just a straight up exploit rather than being "broken but legit." You're literally exploiting limitations of the game's programming to bypass the intended experience.
>>12340198emerald kaizo is impossible without this absolute unit
>>12343364fuck butterfree Ill take the mankey before victory road
>>12343853not sure if limiter off universe indalecio is possible without them. but yeah any other time its cheating.
>>12346384What if I get 2 enemies behind me by chance? Do I handicap myself and let them catch up on purpose?
>>12346519Yes. A real man defeats every enemy who approaches.
>>12340350None of the rivals in R/S/E are nowhere near close to a challenge unless you are one of those they/thems that like speedrunning rpgs
>>12341496I don't think glitches count for this thread's topic.
>accurate pistol that does as much damage as a shotgun blast with no downsides whatsoeverno RE4 playthrough that bought the Red9 beat the game
>>12344763this is the one. didn't have to think a single time after I got the needed chips
>>12346387Emerald Kaizo was basically designed to shit on Swampert with how many Pokemon have HP Grass. Sceptile and Blaziken are better.
>>12340198i liek mudkipz
>>12346392I don't know if there is a standard set up for universe limiter off indalecio. I think it comes to down luck and skills activating at the right time. It's been a long time since I touched the game and looked up builds though.
>flies past every open stage
>>12340198All the weapons in UT99 are too overpowered to the point it feels like you're cheesing it up with those frags, and it's mostly because of how tight rooms and corridors are:>Bio-rifle.Works great while retreating. Charged secondary is so powerful it kills you at close range.>Shock RifleCombo is OP.>RipperIt's so easy to trap a room with the razor discs.>Flak CannonYou already know.>Rocket LauncherCharging your rockets and launching them as grenades is bullshit.
>>12344829>an absurd 4 BP for a soft-counter against (selective) physical attacksNo thanks.
>>12349534didn't beat the game
>>12347074If you use the other pistols or even the little machine pistol it really doesn't feel qualitatively different.
>>12349985it shut downs tons of attacks, and espcially combo damage attacks. it is the shitter's top choice when it comes to badge picks
>>12344961>level 47>"low level"
>>12346183Some anon actually counted, and less than 25% of the levels in World can be "skipped" like that.
>>12344842It's not quite as good, but I abused the ability you get as a summon that lets you use one of your summons at random for 0 mana.
>>12354731Yeah that stuck out to me too. Trying to find an actual low level run but keep finding weird stuff like this instead (or speed runs that skip the entire game)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPXVDstUUCU
>>12345047>>12345092And here I thought spamming Flare Star via Io was his best option, goddamn.
>>12354815It is if you're playing a super low-level game, as it, along with Step Mine, is one of the only attacks that can deal great damage at very low levels.
>>12340198>>12344585They got a 2nd type but sceptile did not
>>12340198>sssooo i hheeaard yoouu liiikkee mmmuuudddkkkkkiiippppssss
>>12344538>most anons are lazy and follow conversations rather than starting themGrim
>>12346870Try doing that on Karate Kid's 4th level, the level design makes it a pain.
>>12355925No one ever said being a man should be easy.
In street fighter alpha 1, the AI struggles a lot to deal with Birdie's jumping grab super. To a point where using it is the best/optimal way to deal with boss Akuma.
The Nidos in RBY/FRLG are pretty much the worst offenders of Gamefreak not thinking too much about the game>stone evolution but you get the stone right after the first gym and they don't learn a single useful move by level up after that point so you may as well evolve it right away.
M.Bison's slide/kick/move.
