I can't believe that "Sonic The Fighters" is a thing.So... uh... controller or arcade stick?

>>12349863I love the aesthetic of this game, it's my favorite 3D version of Sonic, before he got really weird-looking and fraile.
>>12349863I actually played it (briefly) at an arcade as a kid. Q-ZAR, the laser tag place, had a Sonic Championship machine in their arcade.Didn't actually play much of it until Gems Collection though.
>>12349880Pad or stick, pervert
I like to play Tails and Bark. The game is not balanced well but fun.
>>12350654No, no. Wait. Let's hear him out. What was that about Amy?
>>12351514She has a pad
>>12349863It's surprisingly good and surprisingly even more technical than a lot of traditional fighting games, though I always found the 8 chaos emeralds thing weird.
>>12349863>>12353201also to answer your question, controller is how I played it and it was pretty much perfect so i'd go with that.
>>123532018 chaos emeralds is weird, but it eventually became the subject of a comic (where it turns out to be a different precious gem stone). It was an idea as early as Sonic 3 though, there's an 8th chaos emerald and 8th super emerald "obtainable" though the level select cheat code, with their own dedicated special stages. They have a distinct color from the 7 chaos/super emeralds you get in normal gameplay, though obtaining them doesn't add them to your save game or change anything. The actual color differs between playing Sonic 3 alone, or Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and they've been inconsistent across the series history.
>>12349892100%, this and Sonic R were the future we needed, but didn't deserve
>>12353173I prefer manual drive
>>12353201Sonic before Dreamcast never had consistency there. Hell, the whole reason I'm pretty sure Time Stones and other such gems were made was an asspull to justify why there are different sets of McGuffin rocks.
