I got a wavebird + receptor that worked fine so I had the sticks replaced because they were busted, and now the controller won't connect. It powers on but it just won't connect again.
Am I just SOL?
Do I just get another working controller and take the motherboard?

just take it apart and put it back together again until it works

did you check if the number on channel wheel in both ends is the same?

No luck. Already tried every combination and repeatedly.

did you put the batteries back in?

I found one of these (Warrior by NYXI, pictured) in Facebook Marketplace, used as new, with all the spare parts and all, for 35USD last year.

I almost purchased it at 60USD from their website a week before, it was a strike of good luck for real.

Now that I have tried it for many months I can assure you I would pay full price for it if I lost it, so worth it, heavy, good battery life, nice exchangeable pieces, and compatible with PC, Switch, and anything if you use an 8bitdo adapter.

I bet it ends up being cheaper than an original wavebird plus all the repairs and new pieces.

Deserved.
Wanting to endlessly charge/replace batteries in every device is mentally ill. use a wire like a MAN

Did you do the repair, or what?

Bought a "broken" wavebird and a regular controller almost for free last year.
The only problem was battery corrosion on the contacts, gave it a good cleaning inside and it works like a charm.
Dunno how you could fuck that up OP, you don't even need to remove the motherboard to replace the buttons. Open it up again and be sure the channel wheel is working correctly.

>but it's heavier
Kind of a self-defeating device.

It also lacks rumble or otherwise it'd be heavier and drain batteries more.
But it was the craze 25 years ago. It's just a cool collectible to have, but obviously controllers have evolved since.

Sound worthless to me and exists to pad collections only.

Not being tethered to the console more than justifies using one.

I got an extension for mine so I don't feel chit, mang.
