I can't help but feel like the PSX library is solved. It holds no surprises anymore. All hidden gems have been found, all worthwhile games analysed to hell and back, every quirk, secret or easter egg discovered.
>>
Hmm idk op better check youtube again to be sure

People are still finding new things to say about NES games.

It's an useful way to identify zoomers. If they use "PSX", they weren't born at the time.
>>
>>12386696
People are still finding hidden stuff in 8 and 16 bit games, so no, it's far from solved.
>>
>>12386734
I'm almost 40 and I've said "PSX" for over a quarter century.

You're either or a europoor or some south american mutt. Or even worse you're indian
>>
>>12386750
German. Got my PSX on launch. All the local magazines referred to it as such, as well as the sites I browsed for guides and cheat codes.

For example here's an FFVII walkthrough from 1997, which calls it the PSX. Pretty sure that's the one i read back in the day.

But you can. Great advances in medication for mental illness has been made since you were born 12 years ago.

Why do you say this dumb shit? Didn't they just recently discover that Crash has a sign that says Big Dog Dicks like a month ago?

A big part of PS1 culture is actually getting mass deleted from the internet and forgotten: cracktros
No-Intro fags basically wiped it out.
>>
>>12386739
I'm over 40 and would call it "playstation" and would write psx because that's what it was always written as until that late stage model came out when the ps2 was released.
>>
>>12387559
Now you're gonna get gaslit by worthless zoomers who will want to project their zoomerness on you by calling you a zoomer
>>
>>12386696
I mean it's a popular console so it's only a matter of time before every good game on it has been talked about at some point. Nevertheless I'm positive there's plenty of little known games on it most people in this thread have overlooked, but if what you're looking for is a game that almost everyone else has overlooked up to this point then yeah you're probably out of luck and would be better off searching for that in less popular systems.
>>
>>12386696
Learn japanese and you'll be discovering new stuff for the PSX for the rest of your life.
>>
>>12386696
It's the most expansive and varied library along the ps2, whether you played all the games or not (you didn't) is irrelevant
>>
>>12387559
Nobody ever called it "playstation" zoomer. Just look at all the evidence ITT.

Assuming this is true (I can't even find a definitive list of all retail playstation games released) what games are worthwhile. I just fixed my playstation and softmodded it, and im having a blast replaying games i haven't seen in 20 years.

What do you recommend anon? Bonus points for titles you don't see on every "Top 50 PS1 Games" list

but the psx has so many games,
I like to browse the full catalogue (wiki, psxdatacenter) and pick games at random and play them,
the other day I played pic related, it was ok, might I say enjoyable.
never have I seen anyone talk about it,
so don't trust others or publications for a curated list

dig in yourself, you might find something ignored by most that you might enjoy
>>
>>12388332
I started playing games before and I noticed that there's something really nice about just dipping into a full experience as if you were bathing without having to fully commit to as, like just washing your face. That analogy sounded really clever I mean head right now, but it's fucking retarded, but you get what I mean, I hope.

Yeah no shit every single game was purchased by somebody, the concept of hidden gems is fundamentally flawed. I personally know of every single RPG on the playstation so there are no "hidden" gems for me but not everyone on earth has the same experiences as me. Are you just discovering human consciousness?

that's probably more than you've played in your lifetime.
