Just started it for the first time.Really charming beginning and I'm glad to be playing a more classic JRPG setting since last few I played were pretty experimental so its a bit of a breath of fresh air.This is also my first DQ game as well.What do (You) think about it?

I like 5 but there two things I dislike:>the overworld layoutEspecially those meme rocks in the water preventing from doing any exploration when you get the ship>lack of feeling of empowerment compared to the previous gamesThe nice thing about 1 to 4 is that for every new game, by the end of the game you end up stronger than you were in the previous game. Except that 5 broke that tradition and you end up weaker than in 4.
