Did this game predate Hotline Miami?
>>12394312it's a cult game but I can't tell you if it's good or not cause I couldn't get it to run on my system.
>>12394312A really cool game.
>>12394312DreamWeb is a cool, slow story-driven adventure game. Hotline Miami came to be as an iteration on GTA mechanics. Around 2010 GameMaker was a hot thing, like Unity/Godot now and people would experiment with various game system recreations in it, like Zelda/MegaMan/Mario/Sonic (also more generally sprite stacking and time rewinding and I believe Jon Blow lifted his Braid idea there) and GTA was one of those. There were a ton on GTA clones and things like top-down Counter Strike or Doom and such. Cactus was active in the community at the time. You can still find this stuff on WayBack Machine.
>>12394312You do realise that quite a few top-down shooters existed before hotline miami right?
>>12394315>>12395026It runs in ScummVM
>>12394350Dreamweb is an adventure game though
>>12394312Nah man it rleased in 2013 and as such this thread has been reported for off topic
Did you play the game, or are you just making retarded claims on a game you've only seen in screenshots?Seriously, Dreamweb is literally free right now.
>>12394312It's a similar aesthetic but these games couldn't be further apart gameplay wise.
>>12394312the games cool but you can pick up 99% of the items on the screen making it fucking impossible without a guide. Also nothing like hotline miami youre some loser assassinating famous people and absorbing their power from what i remember.

>>12394343>and I believe Jon Blow lifted his Braid idea thereNot the critically-acclaimed bestseller Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, or the lesser-known Xbox exclusive Blinx?
