>The story of a blonde princess and her blonde hero and their homogeneous kingdom being threatened by a man from a dark-skinned desert tribe>The final villain is literally Moloch-BaalBravo Nintendo
>>12395181Fuck, the baal worshipers shadowbanned me.
>>12395245You're not shadowbanned, your thread just sucks
Nagako Ikuta is a key person within the Zelda team and not many people talk about her. She's referred to as a "human Zelda encyclopedia", her expertise being not programming or game design, but lore and worldbuilding. She says she is the #1 Zelda fan, and has been working with Nintendo on Zelda since at least the 90s, she was there on the original OoT development (pic related is from the OoT3D Iwata Asks)By the way, she is a christian.
Moloch most likely wasn't an actual deity. No such god is attested anywhere else in the ancient Near East. What the word most likely refers to is the act of offering a sacrifice through fire i.e. a burnt offering, in this case of children. Whether this sacrifice was dedicated to Yahweh or another god (such as Ba'al) is what's disputed. What's like is that later tradition misunderstood the word (from at least the Septuagint onward) and turned it into a rival deity.

>>12395181Wind Waker is just Future Boy Conan with a Zelda skin.
>>12398269It's actually a homage to one of the first anime films from the early 60s, The Little Prince and the Eight Headed Dragon
>>12395181Why do skitzo talk so much about Moloch (Eastern god), black people, white people, gays, and especially Jews? Seriously, every fucking rant is about the Jewish cabal, Eastern gods *insert other ethnic group* and gays, and then they kill themselves or spergout killing 10+ children.
>>12398307Moloch wasn't the name of a god that was worshiped, it was what the ritual sacrifice of children was called
>>12398279Never knew that, but you can definitely see it in toon Link. Watched the trailer there, looks incredible - cheers for the tip, anon!I'd still say the plot of Wind Waker is VERY similar to Conan, there are even some scenes that look like deliberate references (the searchlight on Ganon's island being the most notable example)
>>12398363Yeah it's possible Conan was also an influence. You're welcome and funnily enough I first watched this movie back in 2003, right in the middle of my WW playthrough when it came out. Cartoon Network was having one of their special movie segments one day and I was like, wtf this looks exactly like wind waker. Mind blowing stuff.
>>12395247you are brown LMFAO!!!
Every sin Jews are accused of, Phoenicians/Carthaginians were actually committing.
>>12395181That's why you kill him, they are showing what you should be doing.
>>12398279>>12398367>Yeah it's possiblelol Future Boy Conan was indisputably a direct influence on Wind Waker. The character style is drawn from the Little Prince, but a shit ton of Future Boy Conan made it into Wind Waker including the setting (post-flood world, Forsaken Fortress) events (kidnapping, leaving the island, fucking seagulls around Aryll's light is directly from the show, and sailing off for new lands at the end), characters (the King of Hyrule has a direct counterpart in FBC), and arguably even mechanics (beyond the Forsaken Fortress spotlights, I'm pretty sure all of the sidling around in FBC is why Link has that movement option, and stuff like the grappling hook fits with Conan being highly acrobatic).>>12398269Good taste. Was simultaneously rewatching Future Boy Conan while replaying Wind Waker recently, and meant to do a thread on the subject but didn't save any material to go along with it.
