Why did Rockstar memory hole it?
Many countries game rating systems wouldn’t allow newer versions of this to release
it really really wasn't that good
>>12396596Maybe Rockstar is ashamed of having to censor the shit out of it. Nu-rockstars just all trannies now and only remember San Andreas and gta v
>>12396564the real answer is that rockstar can barely get one game out every decade with all the combined mass of their studios working on it. giving a revival to an under appreciated 6th gen series is very low on the list of things they've let fall by the wayside.
>>12396564because you're gay bitch>>12396614tell us something we don't know professor
>>12396614Manhunt 1 got a steam release and a ps4 port. Manhunt 2 didn't even get that.
>>12396596Yeah Australia didn't introduce an R18+ rating for video games until 2013, and by that time it didn't matter since you could just download them.
>>12396596>>12396610what even needs censoring? it already has a 17+ rating
>>12396685>what even needs censoring?Executions were. It was really bad you could barely see anything but modders fixed that.
>>12396564it's a game they did only so gta would look mild in comparison.
>>12396564>Manhunt 2probably because it fucking suckedthe first game was a mediocre slop but this one was even more boring and bland
>>12396618Its not that Manhunt 2 didn't get a PC release, I think it was sold on Direct2Drive or Gamersgate at some point. And even then its worth stressing that Rockstar putting their games on Steam is not the be-all-end-all for quality, their Renderware era games require fan patches to be remotely playable on modern OS's.
It's not as memory holed as Smuggler's Run I think, as people still talk about Manhunt 2 often enough. I think with some proposed changes and an extra year of development it could've been a really great game.>The censor shit is an option in the settings that can be disabled, or other effects enable like a camera effect if you're feeling nostalgic for MH1 ( I assume they couldn't do this as the rating boards and stuff would be pissed you can just turn it off)>A minimum of 3 executions per violence level for every weapon with them being randomized (so if you did level 1 twice you might not get the same thing in a row)>Overhaul the melee combat to a slower more grounded version of the Warriors system. You can grab an enemy and slam their head of a nearby wall, you can hold in the thumbsticks while grabbing them to strangle them to death, or if they're weakened to a certain point and you have a weapon you can do a special mid combat execution.>Tweak some of the level layouts to be tighter, more dynamic phsyics stuff (if possible with the PS2 and Render Engine I don't know but wouldn've been cool)>Re-do the soundtrack, keep the main theme, but the music needs more tension in combat or running.>Introduce guns mid to late game instead of how they're introduced early game. This would fix some of the pacing issues the game has and really escalate things>Lastly, cut Leo's character entirely, I understand they wanted something to replace starweather's earpiece, but he just turns the plot into a bad fight club ripoff. Instead, have Danny start timid and scared fighting to escape and survive, but over time he starts to be more like Leo in personality, voice, and thoughts as he keeps getting the mental triggers and learns about the project. Maybe remove or retweak the flashback levels and make them instead what Danny is currently doing stumbling upon about the project.Just ideas though, I wonder if Rockstar still has the rights to Oni
>>12396564It was bland and what more they tried to insert morality into a game that shouldn't have any.
>>12396614This. GTA is successful enough that it's probably a poor business decision to put significant money and manpower into anything beyond GTA, so something like manhunt inevitably gets put on the back-back-back burner
>>12396564Wasn't that good. Simple as. If I wanted a backstabbing simulator, I'd play TF2 and main Spy.
>>12397412>you can't see two action figures beating eachother upI prefer the kino filter, lets your imagination paint the picture
>>12398661This. The Wii filter was the best one. Made it look like a schizophrenic episode.
>>12398661>>12398757>just let your imagination fill the rest in>so fuckin kino!
>>12398778sure beats looking at shitty ps2 graphics :^)
>>12396602ThisKind of a shitty game that only edge lords cared about
>>12398784It was not any worse than Manhunt 1. Both played like shit and were carried entirely by atmosphere and novelty.
>>12398787Manhunt 2 raped the atmosphere.
>>12398804Strongly disagree. MR2 was way creepier than the first game and really nailed the atmosphere. But it was retarded for not giving any reason to perform more gruesome executions. The snuff film aspect in MH1 made a lot of sense.
>>12396617Nigga shut up. Getting mad at a screen like a little bitch
>>12398782Those were the best graphics actually
>>12399015fuck you, like you know anything. i'm laughing at your dumbass rngo play outside little bro
>>12396564>tfw german>tfw "what this game is about a manhound?"
>>12399018nah, rockshit games' graphics were outdated on release
Manhunt 1 is better thoI was in elementary school at the time, we were like WOAH HOLY CRAP!
>>12400070Did you send emails to strong bad as well?
>>12396637>Yeah Australia didn't introduce an R18+ rating for video games until 2013I remember Left 4 Dead 2 being absurdly censored in Australia too, corpses would simply vanish instead of remaining on the ground, etc.
