What's a game that you really like, but could never recommend to anyone else in good faith?
>>12397793
Princess Maker 2.
>>12397793any game with tranime art stylei don't want to taint my reputation
Sonic heroes. It’s based but it sucks

>>12398165it's Rapelay not ''ghetto monkey noises''-lay
SNES Road Runner Death Valley game
>>12397847Unironically this.I also like playing retro fishing games and I just feel like that's not enjoyable for most people.
Corruption of ChampionsFree Cities: Preg ModSengoku Rance
>>12398230I want to like this game but the last few levels are miserable
Sonic 3D: Flickies Island, i'm not ashamed for liking it and think it's one of the best 3D sonic games but i never recommend it because some faggot will bitch on about how "bad" it is and how "slippery" the controls feel, it's hard to meet anybody who likes this game like i do.
>>12397793King's Field 4
>>12398325>coc is retro now
>>12398281I was in a graduate-level college class in 2018-2019 and there was a dude who genuinely looked like Chad Thundercock/Gigachad memes that sat a couple rows in front of me and during about half of our lectures I could see him playing SEGA Bass Fishing on his laptop (the other half he went to flash game sites without any adblocker on).
>>12397793Pathologic. I can recommend the sequel-remake just fine but unless you are super steeped into pretentious eurojank this shit is a hard sell.
>>12398406I played it before they fixed the translation and it was impenetrable. felt like an ESL babbling random shit in a fever.
>>12398136excuse me but nox is a masterpiece and midtown madness a classic.
>>12398418I can read a little bit of Russian and it's still impenetrable. It's not just the translation, the writing is just wierd, kinda like EYE Divine Cybermancy.
>>12398406tbf pathologic is literally the only game I can think of where the remake is the better game, and that's mainly because no amount of shouting SOUL can save the original, especially when the remake has soul too
>>12397793There's quite a few. I'll go by /vr/ standards and not normie standards since we are on /vr/>Pretty much any Atari 2600 game It's almost impossible to recommend these games to people because they usually jump right in and feel empty when it's mostly score attacks.>Great Swordsman Excellent little sword fighting game, but it's so different from modern fighting games that I can only recommend it to people who are into arcade games.>Nightmare on Elm Street (NES)AVGN ruined this game's reputation. It's actually really good, but people automatically assume LJN=Bad (Not entirely wrong, but this is the exception). Those are just a few. They aren't bad, but I can only recommend them to people with an open mind.>>12398349My issue with 3D Blast is that it gives me horrible motion sickness. I like the idea of it, but playing it is literally painful for me.
>>12398349The Saturn version of 3D Blast is genuinely a very good game, but I don't think the Genesis one is. It was a little too unsuited for that console.
>>12398526>Nightmare on Elm Street (NES)my boi the angry nintendo nerd made a video explaining why that game sucks
>>12398526Nightmare on Elm Street is a pretty good early effort from Rare. Nothing groundbreaking but it has cool music and atmosphere, and if you're a fan if the movies its worth it for the novelty alone.
>>12397793I recommend all games I like.
>>12398281>retro fishing games are not enjoyable for most peoplewell, anon, we're not most people. you can't leave us without some recs!
>>12397847You didn't have any reputation if you thought like that, the buzzword doesn't help. You can't stop being a fag.
>>12398165>>12398186
>>12399268>t. assblasted weebsorry but i don't want to be a laughing stock like you everyone makes fun of for shamelessly wearing tranime t-shirts and playing tranime gacha in public
>>12397847Anime website, dumbshit.
>>12397847Stop making pretension part of your persona then, you underaged faggot.
>>12399395not for literal decades, grandpa.
>>12398385based.>>12399149I've been on a GBC kick lately so it's been Bass Master Classic , TNN outdoors Fishing Champ and Legend of the River King.
>>12398094It's got great environment art and BGM. Shame about the gameplay. >>12398136I'm curious to hear your rationale for some of these because these are mostly easy recommendations for me.
>>12399395and? i don't tell anyone i browse this shitholeand don't act like you're any different
>>12399501The GB/C River/Sea king games would probably reconcile anyone with fishing games due to how casual and comfy they are. The console games are more hardcore however.
>>12399542Yea Jedi knight: Jedi Academy was pretty damn good if my memory serves me right. I’d recommend the entire series.
>>12399691Wait, a fishing game where you can paddle a seal that tries to steal your fish? This is totally up my alley. I was fishing and a territorial gray goose tried to chase me off. I smacked so hard with a chunky branch it limped off and my friends told my gf at the time and she got butthurt over it.
>>12399691They are pretty comfy. Those games always make me laugh because you're just a kid out to catch some fish but you constantly end up in fist fights with monkeys and bears, it's such a ridiculous mental image.Oh also for recommendations, Any of the Super Black Bass games are good just because they have the Jap 'tism. Though I think the GB one is kinda meh.
chrono trigger.not after finding ATB is bugged as fuck and makes the game way easier.https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/9435/
>>12397793Tonka's Search and Rescue
>>12397793Kirby is the first thing I thought of. generally recommending stuff that's very easy doesn't sit right with me.
>>12398527I didn't mind the genesis version, especially with the piss easy special stages which were thankfully improved upon with the saturn release.>>12398526At least your reasoning is much more fair than what people online say about the game.
I have a walkthrough for Wirehead ready to go, you'll see
