I like playing them on the Retroid Flip 2 but it really depends on if you like handhelds in general. For me, playing console games on a handheld was always pipe dream tier until the last few years. Gen 6 is where it really caps out though because after that you need a bigger screen due to how small text can get in games gen 7 and up. Look at gameplay in a youtube video on your phone in landscape. If that looks good to you, I think it should answer your question.

Impressons so far.

The boot up speeds are amazing, like launching Black 2 is almost instant compared to the little lag on my DSTWO.
All the games I've played all seem to be perfectly fine without any AP patches. Black 2 for example the EXP gain is fine.
Sleep mode works fine. I was able to close it and keep playing. (Unlike a certain flashcart)
I enjoy the boxart and theres a handy little program that does it for you automatically
WPA mode seems to be working fine. I was able to connect to the Mystery Gift DNS thing and claim some Mystery Gifts on a DSi enhanced rom.

Downsides for me so far.
No cheat options. Not much of a deal breaker to me personally. But can be to some.
To change themes you have to put the SD into the PC and edit a .json file to the one you want to use which is a ballache
No hotkey to return to flashcart menu. Which might be an issue for some but for me on DSi I just press the power button and relaunch and it's fine much quicker than the soft resets on other flashcarts anyways.

I'll probably replace my DSTWO with it desu as all the games I enjoy seem to be working thus far.
Tested on a DSi with UnLaunch (With sound and H&S Splash restored.) I made the mistake of getting clear white shell but I might now try and get a transparent black one instead.
Hope it does have a bright future and not get abandoned.

I've always been a flashcard guy because Twilight Menu++ hasn't ever caught me. Way too many options and in my experience playing Romhacks seem to produce ram errors.
Again this is my own experience here so take it with a grain of salt.
Flashcarts usually have better compatibility. Not sure what the compatibility of the Pico is right now but I am assuming the vast majority of games are fine but on Twilight Menu++ I still see that NDS boot strap still has compatibility issues in some games. Never been a big fan of DS on SD myself anyways. At least in my setup after installing UnLaunch I am not tied to a SD card and can use the DSi with the patches no problem and it basically behaves like a stock DSi just no flashcard whitelist.

Thats the one yea, it's able to play DSi ware too, aswell as GBA/GBC/GB and NES/SNES and from what I can tell the performance seems a little better than GBARunner2.
I was told by some people to make sure you get the Micro-B version. As the Type-C version is a little thicker which makes it a bit more tight in the cart slot.
Another reason is it seems someone is developing an IR addon with the Micro B slot so in the future we may be able to do the Pokewalker stuff without ever having an official HG/SS cart.

I just got into these things with the RP6, and I've learned that you make concessions.
Wound up getting the d-pad on top because I mostly play older stuff, and for that it's fantastic. Zero complaints with 2D games. But shifting my thumb down to use the analog stick feels distinctly unnatural.
I've clocked a lot of hours on DualShocks, so it's not unusable by any means, and I've already managed to play through a couple of analog-centric games on it, but I wish I picked up a grip at least.
As for the screen, games look incredible and it handles everything I throw at it at at least 1080p.

Haven't had time to set it up but it looks like one that came preloaded with a shitload of games already.

I like that it looks like it has an SSH server installed already which will be much more convenient for managing files on the device than having to hook it up to USB every time or download from internet.

The generic cards do fail in a couple of months tops, in my experience this is the best advice for stock, generic, cards:

THEY ARE NOT REWRITEABLE!! they are flashed by the manufacturer skipping the bad sectors (they seem to be subpar cards or scrap) so the card is technically good to be used as is, but if you go adding and removing and reflashing stuff odds are you will have it hit bad sectors sooner than later, and the card will corrupt-lock itself up.

The RG34XXSP I received this Christmas had good dumps of many great games and also had an app to download more games from their servers, as long as you have WIFI you dont even need a card reader nor PC to corrupt your card xDD

I kept my 64GB stock card (TF2) by Anbernic because the OS is not bad at all, the games are fair, and the app to download more games is based.

I have both, 2 3ds and a n3ds actually and no, I do not recommend a thor for 3ds although I didn't buy it for one so I've only tested 3ds for maybea half hour in total.
In my experience using azahar, its a shitty experience. I can't even have the dpad and stick inputs registered at the same time and the performance and stuttering is lame.
Seeing 3DS games in higher res is kind of cool but the hud and 2d assets will all still be very pixelated which is off putting, i prefer the uniform appearance of games on a real 3ds and having 3d.
For me, the thor is great for everything else including switch and having a second screen for quick guide pull ups or checking the battery. I just like clamshells and the thor seems to be the best one on the market.

It's easy to find a safe way to transport it or even a generic case but the grip makes the device feel better to use.
