In some retro games you can go anywhere, so long as you believe you can.

Are there any good transformers games?
>>

>>12398685

You see that mountain? You can fly to it

Does this game take place entirely on a jungle or something?
Never seen any gameplay from it showing any other enviroments

Remember this being like Spider-man 2… just a licensed game that went well beyond what that usually means. I regret not playing it at the time, but then again we had aaa releases every week instead of 1-2 every 3-4 years.

Why would you assume that is the case

fuck that shit

Assuming you're talking about free roam exploration games as opposed to nonlinear open world games like SaGa:
>Tail of the Sun
>Aquanauts
>Aquanauts 2 (JP only)
>Shadow of the Colossus
Interesting thread, would be nice to see some real responses

zelda was amazing to me at the time. an entire map to explore, you could get killed in the wrong part, you can go somewhere and not get in to a place, but come back to it later. mind blowing to me. also super mario bros, the screen kept going to the right lol. I had an atari 2600 before and most of the games were one screen arcade ports or levels that werent as impressive as smb. finally Id say far cry 2. I didnt try the first one but the second one has a vast map to me and being able to drive, hike, or hang glide was great. you can go where you want for the most part.

A shame they didn’t port this to the Xbox, could’ve been even better on there. 1.2 million seller and they cancelled the sequel. Dumb fucks. Anyway I just picked up a copy from goodwill for 20 bucks, about to check it out and see if it really is a good licensed game. The webm you posted reminds me a little of Gundam: Journey to Jaburo which I enjoyed, even if it was pretty easy and repetitive.

I don't even like Transformers since that shit was not a thing in Europe, but that game has always looked cool

I remember being baffled how in Halo 1 in the beach mission how you can just get in the warthog and just drive off into the ocean forever. Why they even let you drive underwater in the warthog I have no idea.

Pretty impressed by how detailed the environment is for a retro game.
