Post games you enjoyed that you know aren't groundbreaking masterpieces but you also don't consider to be utter shit.
>>12415904
>>12415904Non-meme answer.
>>12415904i think I had an xbox demo disk for this game. never played the whole thing.
>>12415904A good shooter, but nothing exceptional. Very high difficulty packed in a particularly short game. Most of the planes are completely useless, but the good ones are fun to use.I could only clear the first loop.
>>12415924aint this the game with the crippling save room bug where if you save and quit in a certain savepoint you straight up cant play anymore
>>12415904An alright shmup, but not phenomenal.Deceptively challenging given its length. The majority of jets are worthless, but the good ones are enjoyable.I never got through the second loop.
It's nothing all that special, but it has some fun gimmicks and is better than it might look at first glance.
Pretty much the entire Ty series. Perfectly fine little mascot platformers. Didn't do anything particularly special, but they were enjoyable enough.
>>12415904Whiplash would be such a better game if it didn't have so much time wasting filler. Like half of that game is just running through copypaste hallways and vents (which I'm not 100% convinced are actually hidden loading screens) and doing that door opening minigame before you can get to the good stuff, and then right before the final area you get forced to backtrack to every other area again for no good reason. That game is such an example of an eh 10 hour game that could have just as easily been a fun 5 hour game.
>>12415904fighting the end boss is a bitch
>>12415904The PS2 has a shitload of middle of the road type games.
>>12419104drakan is better than that
>>12419301I like the game but it's pretty mid.
probably 99% of the games I played growing up.
>>12419682what's this?
>>12415904I thought this game was great, had a lot of personality. One of the better "mid" platformers of the generation
>>12420402I enjoyed the GBA version quite a fair bit at the time, though kid me was never able to get past the rhythm boss fight. Whenever I think of the phrase "pins and needles", my mind goes to the corresponding characters from Tak.
>>12420918>Whenever I think of the phrase "pins and needles", my mind goes to the corresponding characters from Tak.wtf are you me?
>>12415904how dare you! I should be in school right now queefing in the toilet!
>>12417129i loved these as a kid.
this one has a crazy over the top anime story
just not that fun
>>12415904The only thing this game was missing was a good Licensed soundtrack full of early 2000s rock.
>>12415904>middle of the road is a good game in a sea of bad gamesweird OP
>>12423237I played the shit out of the demo of DD. Never got around to buying the full game, though.
>>12423237It has some bangers on the soundtrack
A reasonably competent Onimusha-ing of an ancient IP. Not memorable. No real reason to play it now.
>>12423227>SWERY game I should check it out someday. The guy has a knack for making kusoge that’s just campy enough to be entertaining.
>>12420676This game is awesome you absolute boob.
>>12423608actually yes, that's exactly what it means
>>12420205Looks like the original Hitman game, which is jank supreme
Most people just score this as above average but personally it's one of my favorites SNES games. I like how deliberate and strategic it feels, it rewards careful play which is a cool change of pace from other games in the genre who tend to be more about swarming you with a lot of enemies.
>>12415904Pic related is a game I loved as a kid and never beat. It's an ok beat 'em up + platformer, the soundtrack is the best part.>>12416031>>12416974I loved this at the local arcade as a kid but I never replay it nowadays because the Strikers series is the same thing but better
Good ideas here and there and it's fun enough, but could've really used a sequel to sand off the edges
>>12425121There's definitely a lot more love put into the Sonic Wings series compared to Strikers.Sonic Wings celebrates and merges all of Video System's works and feels like an actual universe with its own reoccurring themes and characters. Strikers is harder and faster but it lacks the passion of Video System years.
>>12423196They are still fine.Like I said, they aren't going to win any awards, but if you were to go back and play them they'd be a good enough time. 2 probably does the most to differentiate itself from your average mascot collectathon platformer and adds some alright mecha stuff. I do still need to play 3 though. Maybe I'll start that after I'm done with Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric... which I'm surprisingly not hating.
It's got some issues, including some incredibly amateurish glitches in later stages, but I still think it's a ton of fun and one of my favorite GBA games.
>>12425275While I agree with you, I still have more fun playing Strikers.
>>12415924I'd say this one was very good actually
C-12 is a very competently done game and that's basically all you can say about it. It doesn't overstay it's welcome though and its just a fun 4-5 third person shooter with good voice acting.
>>12425857Great artsyle though
>>12415904This game is really painfully flawed but it was a good spin on the standard SH/RE style of game. Game would have been infinitely better as an RPG.>>12425860I wish the story wasn't so dead simple because they really had the bleakness of the Terminator post-apocalypse down and it could have made for a good world to set something deeper in.
Dunno if middle of the road is the right word to describe this game, or maybe divisive would be a better description, but man I have a real soft spot for this game.
>>12424052I so desperately wanted to like this game because the visuals and music are fantastic, but any game that makes you play through 45 minutes of tutorials followed by an intro stage with an insanely tough boss fight has problems. There is such a thing as a difficulty curve and clearly these developers weren't aware of it.
>>12424048more like GoW
>>12420676The only actual incorrect answer itt.
This game is mid but I like it.
>>12426962It predates God of War by over 2 years, if that's what you're implying.
>>12424053>>12426970It's a good game but control issues and level design keeps it from being a masterpiece.
>>12429590Not middle of the road in anywayhttps://www.gamespot.com/reviews/freedom-fighters-review/1900-6075492/>9.3But outside of the glowing reviews at the time, its third person squad tactics are really solid.
>>12429595its okay
>>12429628Compared to?
>>12429629KOTOR came out the same year.
>>12429640>KOTORAbsolute dogshit gameplay
>>12429643Smackdown here comes the pain
>>12415904>>12423220maybe i just haven't played enough abysmal dogshit games but i wouldn't even call two these middle of the road, they're just flat out bad
>>12425246I remember this game fondly from my childhood, never saw such concept and it amazed me
>>12416125This looks cool, thanks for posting it
Most
>>12417129hard carried by the setting, if they weren't basically "cartoon Steve Irwin" games nobody would care
>>12415904Monster RancherRollcagePokemon SnapZoidsDemikidsTekken
>>12416125The aesthetic and atmosphere on this game is top tier, the gameplay just never matched it.
>>12436193Agreed, the platforming is ass but the art direction is square on for my interests
